SenkoSnack808 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Just wondering what jig you like best for covering some lighter weed growth? Thanks, Corey Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 18, 2006 Super User Posted December 18, 2006 It depends on the weeds. If I'm fishing in mossy slop then I will throw out a 1/2 ounce that will punch through and go straight to the bottom, or a 1/8 ounce that will ride along the top. You don't want to throw mid size in moss, since it could get tangled in the moss on the way down to the bottom. If I'm fishing in something like grassy weeds, I'll throw 1/4 or 3/8 ounce jig. Quote
bassamasta Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Try the Jig X . You can get them here www.verticallures.com They are designed for fishing in grass/weeds but they work well anywhere. Quote
bubbler Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Im with bankbeater. in heavy cover use a bigger one than in a lake with little cover. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted January 21, 2007 Super User Posted January 21, 2007 I too agree on the Verticallure's jig-X. I have used them and I like them. ;). I like the tubes also. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 For fishing in grass, a pointed style of head with the line tie at the nose will come through the grass better. There are a lof jigs like this on the market. I like the Booyah Boo jigs, Booyah Swim'N Jigs and the Vertical Jig X. There are other good brands too. Just do some searching online and you should be able to find them. Brad Quote
