Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 12, 2010 Author Super User Posted December 12, 2010 I think I am going to get him another dog. I'm going to wait until we close on the new estate were buying. New house, new dog, That would make for a fresh start. Quote

Super User South FLA Posted December 13, 2010 Super User Posted December 13, 2010 Sorry to hear about the family's loss. I would wait a while before getting another dog for your parents though. Good luck. Quote
lightsout Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Robert, was it a german short haired dachshund? They are awesome dogs. The germans are more intelligent than their american counterparts. We had them on the farm growing up. They're one of the few breeds that is an awesome family dog/hunting dog. Seeing them go at it with a black snake was a riot! Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 13, 2010 Author Super User Posted December 13, 2010 German short hair pointer. She was a fantastic dog with an impressive pedigree. Quote
northern basser Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Sorry to hear about the loss. I've been a dog man my whole life. Been raising and breeding patterdale terriers for just under 20yrs. now. Lost quite a few before their time to cars and running off to go on their own hunt. Its depressing everytime wether its an accident or old age. My faithfull hunting lab is getting up there too. He's been around since my daughter(12yrs. old) was a baby. That will be a tough one. Definately get your father another dog soon! It works. Quote
