tyrius. Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Did I mention that I like beer? Me too. I like it so much that I make my own! It's pretty interesting to watch 5 gallons of syrupy fluid bubble and churn to make beer. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 6, 2010 Super User Posted December 6, 2010 It exists in NY. DWI law uses two parts for determining intoxication. Part A is blood alcohol level. Part B involves a series of tests (further than the roadside sobriety test) and evidence to sufficiently determine one incapable of operating a motor vehicle. so Part B could tell you if they are incapable of driving but how would you know that theyre high on marijuana? they could be exhausted, have an ear infection affecting equilibrium, or be messed up off of prescription drugs, right? doesn't matter, if there is a body of evidence that shows they were under some influence, and unable to operate a motor vehicle. Doesn't matter what caused it. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 6, 2010 Super User Posted December 6, 2010 Also, get caught with low blood sugar, and you're in bigger trouble than any DWI. Takes years to get your license back. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 6, 2010 Super User Posted December 6, 2010 Also, get caught with low blood sugar, and you're in bigger trouble than any DWI. Takes years to get your license back. I had a friend that had a very bad low blow sugar crash. That was some scary stuff. I'd hate to think of what could happen to somebody that was driving in that situation. Quote
SuskyDude Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 My two cents: Drugs and alcohol don't ruin people's lives. People ruin their lives with drugs and alcohol. You can blame it on a substance all you want, but it's the abuser who does it to themselves. The alcoholic doesn't wake up a drunk, wife-beating, child neglecting degenerate. He makes the chioce to be one. With that said, marijuana should be legal. No logic can prove that alcohol should be legal and weed shouldn't. Booze kills people, literally. I don't just mean from car accident, fights and the like. You can literally drink yourself to death. Quote
bweave09 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Ahhh. I have now had my daily intake of self-righteousness. I'm gonna have a beer. im sorry but i LOL over this. wish i could have beer.......the steady doses of vicodin took that away. well then you win anyways....let the judging begin Quote

brushhoggin Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 my two pennies: most substances, when taken in moderation, are not harmful. when you abuse, bad things happen. i rather have 50 people "high" on the road than one drunk. both should be legal and both should be punishable when driving under the influence. just an opinion... that would peak my road rage, folks goin 30mph on the interstate Quote
