Me and the wife work together when times like this come along during Christmas time, and to get a $1200 hundred dollar set of washer & Dryer is a unbelievable thought for something well needed and at Christmas time :-?

I knew there are some couples that keep bank accounts separate and expect huge gifts when celebrations come, but man oh man this blows me away on how many couples and man thoughts of this is how it is ;D

After $1200 bucks spent and still expect more????? wow :o

You are nicer than i am...$1200 would clean us out of any extra money spending on Christmas presents.

Seriously.....nobody would be getting anything expensive for Christmas in this household.

I spent $400 for both my washer and dryer 6 years ago. I got the "last year model"...so i caught a deal on that one. They both still going strong. :)

My wife has been eye balling the expensive brand at Home depot last year...and i told her...well you better start working 2 jobs and ask for a couple of raises.Needless to say that put me in the Doghouse for a few days.  ;D

You guys are killing me! Looks like I have to buy her (according to my BUDDIES) a real gift. Don't get wrong, my wife is great and never asks for anything and takes great care of me and our son. The only two times a year I better not skimp on a gift is Christmas and her birthday.

I thought perhaps I could get off easy ;)

Too funny!

Add "anniversary" to your "don't forget" list.

Add to that Mother's Day, and Valentines Day!

doug, would you be chapped if she did the laundry and then wrapped your clothes and said "Merry Christmas"? i'm just sayin.

I once bought my wife a broom for a gift and told her to get to work.......

I am now on my second wife.... ;)

Bad idea. Makes it seem like you don't appreciate her. Buy her something for her...jewelry is always good, as is perfume. Only buy clothes if you have good taste and know her sizes and likes/dislikes....Your wife will most likely NOT appreciate a sweatshirt with a bass on it.

Reverse the tables...why isn't the washer/dryer YOUR present???

No need to ever buy her a watch. There's a clock on the stove  ;)

How many men does it take to open a beer?

None. It should be opened when she brings it.

Why is a Laundromat a really bad place to pick up a woman?

Because a woman who can't even afford a washing machine will probably never be able to support you.

Why do women have smaller feet than men?

It's one of those 'evolutionary things' that allows them to stand closer to the kitchen sink.

How do you know when a woman is about to say something smart?

When she starts a sentence with 'A man once told me...'

How do you fix a woman's watch?

You don't. There is a clock on the oven.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do men pass gas more than women?

Because women can't shut up long enough to build up the required pressure.

If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first?

The dog, of course. He'll shut up once you let him

What's worse than a Male Chauvinist Pig?

A woman who won't do what she's told

I married a Miss Right.

I just didn't know her first name was Always.

Scientists have discovered a food that diminishes a woman's sex drive by 90%.

It's called a Wedding Cake.

Why do men die before their wives?

They want to.

Wome n will never

be equal to men until......

they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

In the beginning, God created the earth and rested.

Then God created Man and rested.

Then God created Woman.

Since then, neither God nor Man has rested.

All joking aside, I would never give her a washer and dryer as a gift, but if things get any worse then she just might get an appliance for Christmas.  Our hot water heater just went out. Off I go to Home Depot for a new one. >:(

How far away is the water heater from the Washer? Sure it wasn't the water heater leaking the water and you thot it was the washer?

LMAO!  Bro, you almost got me p'd off thinking the water may have come from the unit.  The heater is about 4ft from the washer, but there was no water between the two.  The water I found this morning came from under the wall into the Foyer.  That wall separates the laundry from the foyer.  The water is creeping to the lowest point in the house, away from the washer.

But thanks for the idea.  Believe me, it would have been nice to get a refund on the new washer ;)

The heater was here when I bought the house almost 8 years ago.  I just hope a new one isn't too expensive, like more than mid 300's or I'm going to pitch a fit.

I'm with you, I think.

My wife and I have both separate and joint accounts. Things like these come out of the joint account and are essentially split 50/50.

Just the other night I saw a Lowes or Menards commercial (I can't remember which) where a couple is asking for assistance from a store clerk.  She needed help in finding him a power tool and he, not so subtly said he was going to head off to "appliances"- the implication being that she was getting a appliance of some sort for Christmas.  So, there you have it!!! ;)

NO separated checking account with us, and we discuss our gifts before hand, we will agree on a big purchase for the house and gladly and thankfully accept it if this happens.

A new dish washer, stove, washer & dryer-even a blender does not offend or ever has ever offended my mother, my wife, my sister in-laws, heck they have even asked for them!

This has gotta be a younger generation or something on this appliance issue?

Anyone 40 + in age here that believe a appliance offends the wife for a Christmas gift?? if so, whats missing, content? Is it that you guys just make a heck of allot more money than we and so your use to spending this way? Is it a poor thing verses a rich thing?

My mom wants a pizza stone for Christmas. That is similar to a washing machine in some ways I guess.

Honestly I don't see the problem. It was $1200. Thats a ton.

At least you didn't tell her to hop on it and fly it around the neighborhood a couple times...

You might not be around to have a second wife!  :)

How's it similar? Can't cook pizza in a washer. Although I guess our ancestors from the 1980s came up with stonewashed jeans. Might be able to cook a pizza in the drier. Yeah you're right they are similar ;)

HAHA. I was just getting at how both products are going to be used by women I guess.

O H I O the problem with with your comparison is that you are assume mothers and wives are the same. Once married you will learn that while they are both women and subject to the behaviors and attitudes that have baffled men since the beginning, wives require an entirely different skill set. :)
