Super User fourbizz Posted November 25, 2010 Super User Posted November 25, 2010 It is 24* at my house right now. I thought the one good thing about leaving Colorado and Wyoming for California is that it would be nice and warm. Well, scratch that off of the ever shrinking list of reasons to stay ;D Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 25, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 25, 2010 Hey man, that's balmy! We've had severe winter weather since Monday. Our overnight lows were in the single digits last night. We only hit 22 as a high yesterday. Today hit 29. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted November 25, 2010 Author Super User Posted November 25, 2010 I grew up in an alipine valley in Colorado, very often the coldest place in the contiguous US, then I went to school in Wyoming. The winter I was there it was below 0 with winds of at least 30mph for 31 days straight! I know real cold. I'm just saying that this isnt what I signed up for when I moved here ;D just checked the weather it will be -7 back home tonight. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 25, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 25, 2010 Ya, and when you guys are roasting in the summer with 98% humidity and can only fish at night, it's 80 degrees here with no humidity. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 25, 2010 Super User Posted November 25, 2010 It's almost 2am and the humidity is 72% Quote

Not quite true.........almost always in the summer there is a nice offshore breeze coming in, 90- 95 degrees is actually quite comfortable on the beach, I fish beaches both early morning and late afternoon. tipptruck1 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 For some reason I don't feel sorry for you guys down south and out west when it gets a little cold. Right now its 25 out side with a few inches of snow from the first snow of the year. Tomorrow is a high of 18 and a low of 11 here. So yea it might be cold for a few days out west. At lest in a few days it will be back to sun and warmth. We have three months of this stuff yet. Quote

After living and working outdoors in Michigan for 60 years I'm thrilled to be down here year round.........you keep the cold, I had enough of it. BTW I did go trolling for billfish and dolphin yesterday and going again Saturday. Quote

Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted November 25, 2010 Super User Posted November 25, 2010 Call me crazy, but I love the winter. I would absolutely hate to live at place that has no season change or little at all. Quote

They're easier to catch when their leg is in a cast, huh ? ;D Snowed for a bit here this morning, followed by a spell of sleet, which will turn to cold rain for the remainder. I foresee another mother of a winter for this year Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted November 25, 2010 Super User Posted November 25, 2010 The best part about living down here: While women up north are covering up more and more, women down here for some reason wear less and less. It's awesome. Quote

Branuss04 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I just spent last night in Squaw Valley near Truckee, CA. It was -13*. Personally, I've never been in negative degree weather. I waited until in the morning to go outside, it was hovering right above 0*. The boys were hiding inside my lungs in no time. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Thanks for the laugh. I am guessing you have lived out west your whole life. It seems like here in WI we will get a few days to a few weeks of negative temps for highs during the winter. The coldest that I remember was -35 or -40 a few years ago. I can tell you this The clutch and five speed felt like a rock. I even let my car warm up for about half a hour. Quote
