Fat-G Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Have any of you had a possible in-home threat that warranted your piece? Piece? That single word tells me that you are not mature enough to handle a firearm. Sounds like a 1990's rap video or a bad episode of Miami Vice... : Hahaha, I just watched the new Starsky and Hutch. Snoop said it. Quote

Also, Ice-T made reference to a "deuce-deuce revolver" being his problem solver. Word. Quote
done Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 and Fat-g, on the half chance you are serious, I had an incident at the launch that really made me consider CCW. I was very lucky it did not get any worse than it did. It is better to have it and not need it (which is most likely what will happen the rest of my life), than need it and not have it. Does no damage to anyone in my holster on my hip. And BTW, range time is real enjoyable. My other consideration is I have 4 daughters and I need to be prepared for those 16 yr old boys out there when they are dating. <j/k> Quote

My girlfriend of 3 months's dad saw a hickey I gave her. He was cool about it, but still. I won't do it again. I respect her and her parents opinion of me matters too much haha. Scary. Super User Micro Posted November 24, 2010 Super User Posted November 24, 2010 I dont think they are bad guns, it just didnt fit my hands very well... I like the adjustable grips that he MP provides... The XDM has interchangeable backstraps as well. I might have to look into one... I have been thinking about buying another handgun... If you are looking for a polymer framed gun, take a look beyond the striker-fired Glocks and Springfields, as well. The Beretta Px4 is a phenominally good gun. It feels great in the hand. Had interchangable back straps. Has a hammer. And a decocker/safety. And the Sig Sauer P2022 is another polymer framed gun with a hammer. This Sig pistol is exceptional and has the smootest double action trigger pull I've experienced. It has a decocker. You can get it with night sites. And cost somewhere in between a Glock and a Springfield. It was just accepted by the US Army to arm its tank crews. I have two Sig Sauers and will say they are about cream of the crop when it comes to handguns. The 2022 is no exception. Ergonomically, it's about flawless. Quote

Super User slonezp Posted November 24, 2010 Super User Posted November 24, 2010 I wish we had CC here in IL, I don't see that happening anytime soon lol. I do have a holster for it but it doesn't hide it for CC... You never know. I never thought I'd own a handgun unless I moved out of the city. Now I own 2 handguns. Also, not to be political but it's well known that Mayor Daley has been one of the biggest opponents of guns and concealed carry. It's possible with him leaving Chicago that concealed carry could be a reality. Maybe if Brady had got in. I wouldn't get your hopes up. As far as where I keep my guns. I have them hidden in every room. And no I haven't had a situation where I've needed to use one. But you never know. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted November 24, 2010 Super User Posted November 24, 2010 how about "boom stick"? "Army of Darkness" LOL Quote
RussBert Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I carry this one, Or this, or this, This one's in the nightstand, These are all 38 Supers that I knock down steel plates as fast as I can, Some 45's, just because, Everybody needs at least one .357, And my Son ripping on the AR-15 I built 8-) Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted November 28, 2010 Super User Posted November 28, 2010 Is that first pic a Nighthawk? Very nice collection you have there. I just got the same 357, but mine doesn't have the full lug. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 28, 2010 Super User Posted November 28, 2010 Man, Russbert, I could never visit your house. Between the reels and guns, I'd never leave. Nice guns. I've only owned one .38 Super and I kick myself to this day for selling it. It was a stainless "enhanced" Colt Commander. I don't handload and finding ammo was a royal pain, but not impossible. But what a shooter it was. I'll buy another .38 Super one day - a basic blued Colt Government. I've still got quite a quantity of ammo, mainly Winchester white box and Winchester Silver Tip HPs. My handgun collection is a fraction of what it once was. I just don't shoot to the extent I used to. But I still maintain a few handguns - just in case. Among them are these - my primary concealed carry guns. And occassionally... Quote

Well, we'd have to leave to got to the range! 8-) Nice CZ's. I was looking at a barely used steel framed Tangfoglio CZ-clone Saturday. It was in excellent shape and was $250. Betcha that SP-101 is a handful with full-house 357 loads!!! Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 28, 2010 Super User Posted November 28, 2010 Tanfoglios are great. I used to own (I "used to own" too many gun that I wish I still had) two Tanfoglios. A European American Armory Witness in .45 ACP. Fit and finish were superb, and it was as accurate a .45 as I ever had. It was big, though. And I had a Springfield Armory P9 made by Tanfolgio. Another nice, all steel pistol with great fit and finish. I do like my CZs. They are a lot of gun for the money. My next CZ will be a CZ97B .45ACP. I haven't fired any real full-house loads in the SP-101. The only .357 Mag rounds I've fired are the Remington Golden Sabres (125 gr) which are apparently loaded a little cooler for these types of revolvers. When I carry, it's usually loaded with Remington .38 +P 125gr SJHP, or Remington +P 158gr Lead SWCHP. Quote
