Anyone who owns a handgun, post up what you have. Also specify if it's for home defende, CCW, etc.

I wanna get a Glock 19 or a Sig p229 when I'm 18.

Maybe a Mossberg 500 tactical too.

You can't buy a handgun until you are 21 unless you buy from a private dealer, either way, you have to be 21 to buy handgun ammo.

I have a Browning Hi-Power Practical 9mm. I love this gun but I'm about to sell it and get two Kel Tec P-3ATs for CCW. One for me and one for my wife.

That wasn't the question.

Handguns in the wrong hands are very dangerous.

There are rifles that shoot pistol ammo, so that's not true.

I have a Jennings Bryco 59... Worst handgun on the planet! I got it to take fly fishing to scare off the bears and critters (someone was chased by a coyote where I fish), but I never got my permit to carry it so it's been in the gun cabinet ever since. I traded someone at work my 22 rifle for it.

I have a Sig P226 in .40S&W that's been great for the little over 3 months I could own it.

Friday I'll be picking up a Ruger MarkIII 22/45RP. For all practial purposes it's brand new, and will be so much cheaper to shoot.

It's nice to finally be allowed to own a handgun.

Also guys maybe the gun is a gift that his dad or someone will own on paper til he's 21.

There are carbines that shoot pistol ammo, but I don't know of any local dealers who will sell pistol ammo to someone underage, even if it is "for a carbine."

On topic I have a Ruger SR9c (DAO 9mm compact) for personal defense and concealed carry. I also have a Ruger GP100 Stainless Steel 4".357 mag for HD, to carry in my boat, and maybe some hunting in the future.

The Flea Market section usually has some guns and WMD's for sale. I doubt anyone asks for paper work...

I've got a Ruger Redhawk .44mag, a Tompson Contender in .30-30/ 7mm Waters, and a couple Ruger Mark II Target models in .22.

I got mine to kill stuff.

GLADES, no gun is dangerous--it's the one that posses it that can be.

I should probably add the Sig was for home defense and taking to the range.

The Ruger was to have something to have fun with and so I could could try to introduce some friends to shooting. Might try using it for a somewhat local bullseye club too.

thats what he said, a handgun in the wrong hands is dangerous. also, i think one could argue that a loaded gun is innately dangerous.  ;)

Beretta 92

Had one as a sidearm when I was on active duty and loved it.  I bought one shortly after I was discharged mainly because I was very familiar with it. Bought for home defense & CCW. I rarely carry though. I've been considering picking a Glock 21 at some point. I'm not in any big rush though.

The one I carry is a Taurus PT709 Slim. It's been reliable and conceals pretty easily, but I would much prefer a springfield sub-compact.

When I bought my Springfield I was also looking at Taurus. The Springfield felt alot more comfortable to fire than the Taurus.

Jack, I have the PT145 and my wife carries the PT140 (hers has the stainless slide).  I love my Taurus pistols, wouldnt trust my life with one if I wasn't confident with it.

I also just put a Ruger GP100 on lay away at work. Will be picking it up in a week.

A vehicle in the wrong hands is dangerous. We are surrounded by many things that are dangerous in the wrong hands. A powered table saw is innately dangerous. This conversation is dangerous in that it will quickly turn political if we aren't careful.

Gun ownership comes with the responsibility to handle and secure guns properly. Anyone not willing to do that has no business owning them. If that is done however, the only thing more dangerous than having guns is not having them IMO.

Wayne, I've got a Contender 7-30 Waters to. It's a great shooting pistol. I can hit a pie plate at 250yards with it. It a great deer pistol.
