Triton21 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I have had to take Quinine Sulfate for over 30 yrs. I only take one when I get a cramp. Usually breaks the cramp as soon as it hits the stomache. Kelley Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted November 10, 2010 Super User Posted November 10, 2010 I have been getting them also, especially when super-stretching my calfs. But as some one suggested to do point my toes downs, or straighten them. Next time i'll try and remember to point them up, or perpendicular to my foot and leg. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted November 11, 2010 Super User Posted November 11, 2010 coconut water will help with cramps, i used to get them in my tendon, back of my leg,all the way down. real bad pain, but the coconut water is very high in potassium, much more than you can get from a banana, and it works for me. and pointing the toes upwards also helps a lot. Super User Fishing Rhino Posted November 11, 2010 Super User Posted November 11, 2010 Cholesterol meds can cause cramping. I surmise that other meds might do the same. If you're taking any meds, and getting nightly cramps, check with your doctor. A different med may reduce or eliminate the problem. Quote
shutupnfish Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 My old man was gettin' leg cramps at night somethin' fierce. He asked the doc about quinine pills, doc said to drink tonic water instead, it's got quinine in it. Now my old man swears by it. Steve Quote
