Super User Root beer Posted November 3, 2010 Super User Posted November 3, 2010 You guys disappointed me yesterday in regard to Prop 19. lol. ;D I don't know a whole lot about the bill, but what was it that turned people off from legalizing it? I was wondering if since some people buy it anyway for medical purpose, they had no incentive to vote on it for recreational purpose which in theory would have drove price up some more... Your thoughts on the issue?
Super User Micro Posted November 3, 2010 Super User Posted November 3, 2010 The whole idea was stooooopid to begin with. Legalize pot, they said, then you can regulate and tax it and fix California's fiscal nightmare. Nevermind that even if California legalized it, it was still illegal under federal law. So then you would have dealers and buyers, and the state government involved in a still illegal trade, fully identified to Eric Holder who said his Dept. of Justice was still going to prosecute those involved in the trade to the fullest extent. And apparently those that supported it were too stoned to vote that day.
Scorcher214 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Well, although i am for legalizing it(TEHEHE ). The govt would have to be able to sell it for less than what dealers can, or people might still buy it illegally. I'm interested to see where this thread goes.

As Cheech & Chong would probably say "Up In Smoke"!
Super User BASSclary Posted November 3, 2010 Super User Posted November 3, 2010 Legalize it. Just treat it just like alcohol and tobacco. 1
