jbass Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Rangers got it handed to them tonight. Cliff Lee out in the 5th. 11-7 Giants win. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 28, 2010 Super User Posted October 28, 2010 Who wants a slice? That's funny. : Neither team looked very impressive. Pitchers dual my foot... :-? Quote
gobig Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I do not think Lincecum or Lee were at their best. This should have been a pitchers duel. everything indicated so. But that's baseball. I think its going to be an interesting series. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 28, 2010 Super User Posted October 28, 2010 Who wants a slice? That's funny. : Neither team looked very impressive. Pitchers dual my foot... :-? I couldn't agree more !!!!!!!!!!! A slow pitch softball game. Quote
gobig Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Fresh pie... get your fresh humble pie. I guess everyone is starting to know who Giants are now. Call it messy, call it a fluke, call it what you want they do it with consistency. Quote
jbass Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Cain pitches a masterful game. 4 hit shut out in the World Series. That feat hasn't been done since 1962, an awesome game. The Rangers pitchers could not find the plate and ended up walking in two runs. Then all H&LL broke loose and the rest is history. In two game, the Giants have scored 20 runs......more to come this Saturday from Arlington. Oh by the way, Nolan Ryan is very angry. Quote
gobig Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Oh by the way, Nolan Ryan is very angry. That's almost as bad as making Chuck Norris angry. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 29, 2010 Super User Posted October 29, 2010 WOW , I hope the Rangers survive and don't choke to death !!!!!! Quote
oteymc Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I never thought Texas would beat the Yankees (although I was glad they did), and then I never thought they would have so much trouble with the Giants. That's what's great about baseball. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 29, 2010 Super User Posted October 29, 2010 Cian pitched a gem, and the offense played well (again). I would not count the Rangers out just yet though. They beat a couple of good teams to get here. That's why I love baseball, you never know what is going to happen. My Cardinals were big favorites a few years ago against Boston. That did not not go so well. :-[ Quote
gobig Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I never thought they would have so much trouble with the Giants. Most people didn't. Other than local media the Giants got virtually no attention because they do not really have any super stars on their team. Other than Lincecum or maybe Posey no one else was really a household name before the playoffs. You never know where they are going to get you. Quote

Although both teams didn't get ANY credit heading into the playoffs. The only reason the Rangers got more credit heading into the WS was because they tore through the almighty Yankees :. I knew it was going to be tough for the Rangers to win this series. 1st game the Giants just made fewer mistakes. The 2nd game the Giants flat out put a hurtin' on my Rangers. :'( I still think that the Rangers have a chance, but they sure have a lot of ground to make up against a hot Giants team. Quote

The ESPN guys have continued to dis the Giants, saying they have no chance...still. I really can't believe these guys are saying this. They way they have gone through the Padres, Braves, Phillies, all teams with outstanding pitching but the gutsy guys in black and orange still prevail against the nay sayers. No team (until the other night) had scored 20 runs in two World Series games, none. Go Giants. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 31, 2010 Super User Posted October 31, 2010 Ok. Now we have a series! Go Rangers. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 31, 2010 Super User Posted October 31, 2010 Ok. Now we have a series! Go Rangers. 'bout time!. Quote
CanalStalkin Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Ok. Now we have a series! Go Rangers. scratch that! Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted November 1, 2010 Super User Posted November 1, 2010 Madison was almost perfect tonight... can't believe he's 21 and just tearing it up like that. Should be a tight one tmw night (like we assumed would happen in game 1). Quote
jbass Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Bumgarner pitched a gem last night. A 3 hit shut out gem. To sum it all up the Giants have scored 26 runs and the Rangers have 26 hits. Lee is still an outstanding pitcher and could win tonight, but if the Giants play the way they did the first game; it's over. Go Giants!! Quote
Stasher1 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 What has killed me about all the media I have seen (other than what is local), is they act like the Giants are some kinda fluke. Like they shouldn't be where they are. The best part is... they keep serving up the humble pie. 8-) If the Braves hadn't had so many guys on the DL, the Giants wouldn't be where they are. ;D I'm pulling for the Giants, but only because I like Renteria (he was my favorite Braves player before he got traded), but I really don't care much either way. I'm just glad it won't be the Phillies. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 1, 2010 Super User Posted November 1, 2010 Ok. Now we have a series! Go Rangers. scratch that! I am afraid you're probably right. Quote
gobig Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 How a bout Freddie Sanchez. What a job he has done. I think the MVP award is in his sights. Quote
