Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 18, 2010 Super User Posted October 18, 2010 At nearly 700 bucks, it should perform like the putter of Jackie Mason/Jack Hartounian in Caddyshack II. Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 18, 2010 Super User Posted October 18, 2010 They've been available for some time now, atleast since 2008. Dont think this rod is coming to the US, which would make it alot cheaper. Quote
b.Lee Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I have the actual dvd, it isn't even about skip casting. It is more about the line he is trying to promote. The trailer they put together is every time he skip casts. Which is about 6 times. The DVD is about 70 minutes. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Sha-ZAAAMMMMM!!!! You got served on a silver platter Clary aren't you kinda getting called out in another forum for recommending rods you have never used? People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Zero you got picture proof? This is the web and anyone can claim anything. I remember a young BassResource.com member claiming that a certain lake held a 28 lb bass. Needless to say he couldn't provide picture proof and made himself look like a real idiot. I just in case you where wondering who that member was, It was me. I'm telling you this to help you, we all make stupid claims sometimes on the web. If there not true just say it and move on. Just offering this as advice, If you can't prove it don't post it. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 19, 2010 Super User Posted October 19, 2010 This thread certainly got derailed. Therefore I give you.... Quote

If I have ever corrected someones spelling please tell me where so I can delete it. My spelling sucks :-/ I agree. Quote

But he has been catching some heat today so i am letting this die. I did not realize he was 15 until today after reading numerous threads questioning his credibility... Nibbles Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I've casted with someone elses TD-Z R type and I managed to borrow a Scorpion before for a day. TBH, I didn't feel that big of a difference. They were sturdy and worked very well, but when it comes down to it, I'm still most comfortable and perform the best with the gear I use the most, which is my gear. For instance, I can get away with a much wider swing with my personal pitching setup because the rod is weird and doesn't perform quite like it's rated to. So my pitching technique employs a wider swing than usual. So when I pitch with a proper pitching stick I end up backlashing and have to adjust. Little quirks like that. Your body learns to adapt, and you end up getting used to it and not minding it at all. Quote
NateFollmer Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I'll take 50 $60 Bill Dance Select combos over 4 combos any day. You're a fool if you spend that much on 4 set ups... heck, even if you don't have them, you're a fool for wanting us to think your foolish enough to spend that much on that amount of gear... FOOL! You bring your bazillion dollar combo up here and I'll show you how to skip on a walmart special Quote

Super User J Francho Posted October 20, 2010 Super User Posted October 20, 2010 Nate, bring your wally world snoopy combo up here, and I'll show you how to break it on a steelhead, LOL. I was just down at the lake, testing a repair to a friend's reel, a Steez. I found it quite funny to be fishing a $1000 combo for fish that require zero sensitivity. Quote

It's a Lightning McQueen rod, get it right! I could haul in a steelie on it... I'd be hand lining for most of the fight though Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 20, 2010 Super User Posted October 20, 2010 Come on guys, some of us dig the high end gear. Me for instance. ;D I get just as much of a kick out of buying high end gear as I do using it. My stuff is scratched and dinged, adds charachter. Zero, no need to fib on what you have or dont have. We'll respect you more for just being honest. In the end, remember, fish dont care what you spent on your tackle. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Great video. Wish i did not get on here at night, knowing full well that I can not go fishing this evening,...couple months ago sure; i need to move south. Anyhow, I just bought a new suit- wish clients were like fish and did not care what my gear looked like. My fav combos are all older and still up on my front deck. The newbies seem to squirm into the rod locker. Quote
