I thought the Corvette was supposed to be switching to a rear-mid engine configuration.

Not to my knowledge, but I don't really stay up on Corvettes.

I hope they don't because it would kind of be a Lambo wannabe.

It would increase traction though with all that weight in the back. Maybe it is a good idea.  :o

Yeah but who wants to fight the traction that that?? I had a hp fwd (definitely not a honduh) and it sucked... And they still sound like a bunch of bee's when they are driving.

We got a bunch of ricers where I live, driving around in their 16-17 second civics thinking they are fast.

Same here all they talk about is boost for me its "All throttle no bottle"them little cars though re whats IN now .They are  what the 69,s  were to us in the 80,s >i hate them though i have a few buddies with diesels that use these little cars for snacks wether on the street or track.Pretty  cool when your tow vehicle is pushing 11,s pulling your REAL racer thats pushing low 7,s >bring on the weedeaters

Lets see your diesels try to run with this.

It's all motor. No boost, no nitrous.

I hate the cars, but they can be really quick.

I wasn't trying to say that it was impossible to beat the Civic, I was trying to say that most cars couldn't.

It didn't really come out the way I wanted it to.

Also, how much money were put into those trucks?

I am willing to bet that it's at least five times more than what was put into the Civic.

The Civic is all motor with BPU and it stomps a BPU Supra and Firebird.

If you added some boost and cams, that car is looking at 9 second quarter miles. None of those trucks could compete and that isn't even the Civic's highest potential.

Trucks are meant for towing/pulling, not racing.

The first top 2 are not trucks..the rest are..I was just trying to show that our diesels can in fact run pretty decent, plus I was just messin with ya too.. :)

Oh good, you got me kind of riled up for a second.  ;D ;D ;D

Diesels can run real well, but so can little four bangers.

Not a big fan of small motors, but they have my respect.

Looks awesome but I'll bet it's a PITA when it comes to speed bumps.

just to add a little salt to the wounds. Found a few diesel trucks doing under 13 second times.

I don't like drag racing to munch. I would rather take a car and run auto cross or time attack then drag racing. I find it a whole lot more fun.

When my dad was my age he had a 67 Camaro set up for turns. He would smoke any one in the turns. He didn't need a lot of power to beat other guys. This was when muscle cars were king. These guys with huge hp engines would think they could beat a little Camaro. Little did they know his car was built for the turns.

I dont call my self a ricer at all. I call my self a gear head. I will work on any car and tune it. I have a huge love for cars. I don't care if there made here or across the oceans. But do to the wing that came on my car I get called a ricer a lot. It also has a loud exhaust and a intercooler from factory. Also came that way off the line.

Heres a few pictures of my car. Its a 04 srt-4. I love it. I have smoked a few 5.0 built stangs off the line. Heres a few pictures of it. Yes it has room for my fishing gear. If you look close enoug h on the side shot you can see my rods. Sorry about the size. I cant resize them with out making the pictures look worst.

burn out with my car. I guessed it at close to 80ft. Yes that was one burnout. I have a lsd in it. I would live to see a street honda do that.

Hondas are better at burnouts than you would think.

My buddy had a 2000 EX and he could rip some pretty nasty ones, but no where near 80ft.

I say we all leave the burnouts to rwd cars.

I have to agree with this, no matter how fast or quick your car is front wheel drive burnouts are still dorky.

Man somebody is loaded with cash :o

Not a fan myself also... but D**M!

You probably prefer Honda's with a huge fart can, and huge aluminum wing on the back don't you??

No spinny hub caps and stick on fender vents?

Nice tipptruck, here are a couple pictures of my old SRT, it had stage 2 with a 50 trim turbo and a couple other goodies making 363 hp.

Thats one of the reasons why I sold my SRT, I coudnt get traction to save my life.  It didnt matter how much I played with the throttle.

With my old 450hp GTO I could romp on it, okay not really romp but it didnt spin really as easy which I love.

I was going to say this last night. But as I went to post it the forum went to maintenance.

yea I agree. I was only able to get that because it was cold out and a smooth lot. So the tires couldn't hook up. I cant do burnouts a lot of times because of wheel hop. Kind of hard to control 260 hp on the front wheels with 15lbs of boost from a standing start.

As I was doing the burn my boss was walking out the door. Good thing we were on our way home for the night.

Sorry Redline. I didn't think I was hijacking a thread. I was just going were other people were going. Just to make sure I don't hijack this any more. If the car was in a lighter color were I could see the lines better I might like the car.

Well I think it looks great.

I must admit, however, that the lines of the early (late 60's) steel-bumper C3's are my favorite of any sports car in life.

Now, it somebody updated the rest of it into....um.....

I think the stingray body style was the best looking vette ever. I don't think I would touch it at all. But I guess since you asked I found this by mistake. Here's GM's new stingray.
