Have any of you guys seen this guy live?

I have some of his CDs, and am going to a seminar in which one of the speakers will be him. Its a Get Motivated! seminar and I'm pretty cised to go. Terry Bradshaw, Colin Powell, Mayor Guliani and Dan Rather are also going to be speaking. Can't go wrong with that bunch, but Zig is what has got me going.

that's it.

I've seen him twice, but it's been a long time. He had to be about 100 then.  :)His positive attitude must be working. I have some of his tapes around here somewhere. He is a powerful speaker.

I went to that seminar when it came to Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, you won't see the Mr. Ziglar you hope to see. He had an accident about 2 or 3 years ago where he fell down some stairs and his short term memory was affected (he seemed pretty feeble as well). What they do now is his daughter (or son when I saw him) leads him out onto the stage and asks him one or two questions. Then they show a bunch of old clips of him. They end it with one or two more questions and that is it for Mr. Ziglar (the poor guy talked about the same thing he discussed just 20 minute prior - the home field advantage -and the son cut him off knowing he was repeating himself). I personally think it is sad to see him still doing these talks (unless, of course, he wants to do so). It just appeared to me that he was being pimped out or was there to fulfill some contractual agreement, but that is just my speculation. There are two hardcore sales pitches and the rest of the speakers were very good (except for the lady who started these seminars with her husband. She was way over rehearsed). I am not sure if you are aware of this or not, but there is a slight religious tilt (Christian) to the whole thing. It didn't bother me, but if you are sensitive to these things, you might want to go in prepared. I thought it was an overall good experience and if you were apart of the "group" rate, which I think was like $5 a person, then it is really worth it.

Yes, unfortunatley it was not the Zig I has hoped for, but still absolutley amzing to see him in person. Yesterday it was his daughter on stage, and I am pretty sure that whole thing is scripted with him keeping on track.

Yes, I picked up on the Christian "tilt", and didn't have a problem with it, just wish it would have been made clear before hand.

Did you buy into any of what they were selling? I did not. I can check my own stocks, don't need to flip houses, and sure as hell a'int gonna get rich from online sales.

All in all it was a pretty cool day and got some networking done as well. Well worth the $9 i paid.

This is a common theme among many of the self help gurus and motivational speakers.  I've been to many seminars, Werner Erhad ( EST ), Tony Robbins, even my child hood friend Jackie Kallen, former boxing manager of James Tony, now motivational speaker.  Have read many of the books published over the years, C. Clement Stone, Norman Vincent Peale, Napoleon Hill, Og Mandino just to name a few.  I found the emphasis to be more on spirituality rather the proselytization of the Christian religion, in fact in many cases the audiences were made up from people of all faiths.  The benefits were incredible.

This seminar is definitely Christian (when a speaker has a discussion on how Jesus Christ should be your Savior in their presentation, then I don't think all faiths are included).

Having seen Zig and listened to some of his tapes many times, it is my opinion that he does not proselytize, intentionally anyway. He does use Christian principles as the foundation for his world view, but I never felt that he was trying to convert anyone simply by advocating those principles. Loving your neighbor and treating others they way you would be treated are universal spiritual principles in my view.

My man Zig was not one to push. I have read some books and listened to many of his cds, and feel he just explains how God has benefitted HIM and doesn't seem to push it on other people.

I guess I'm going to church to get rich.

Ok guys, there is a "no religion" rule here.  So let's not stray over that line please.

Thanks!

Good luck with the getting rich thing. It has not worked for me. ;D There is more to being rich than having a lot of money though... 8-)

I completely agree, but I don't need to have money to be rich. I'm going to be a millionaire one day. Guarunteed. Will I be wealthy? Sure. Will I be rich? Depends on what I've done in my life to get there. Depends on how many peoples days I have made or how many friggen people I have made laugh.

The best self help advice I ever received was my father, a child of the depression.   Simple..........he said " Get off your fat butt and get to work", needless to say it to a few years for that to sink in.........he was right.
