Super User grimlin Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 Do you ever wonder why people put themselves in harms way ? I don't think they truly knew they were going to run into danger. I bet a lot of anglers here fish Falcon and they go into Mexico's side without much worry. I agree they need to broadcast this more in America, might warn people who really don't know exactly how bad it is down there. Quote

Never any problem(Just luck i guess), but will stay out of Mexico until this gets over with. Still believe you can go and fish the Texas side, stay out of the upper reaches, and fish without a problem. Quote
whoopbazz Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I have been watching this story very closely (as close as I can from PA), as I am going down there in Jan/Feb to fish with a guide for 4 days. And quite frankly I am going, anything short of a all out war would not keep me from going. I hate to play a cynic here...but I think her story is total BS. There are holes in her story and it has changed (albeit slightly) from time to time. Personally, I think she killed him, the other choice is it was a drug deal gone bad. Lets face it there are plenty of these stories about murders, kidnappings, etc that end up the guilty person is the one crying on the news. Quote

Wow, she sure has one heck of an imagination if that's the case. Quote

When interviewed on the Today Show, the wife stated they were aware of the pirates and if I recall correctly they knew they had crossed the border. She said the pirates approached her as she tried to pull her husbands body onto her jet ski and pointed a gun at her, then left. If true, she is extremely lucky. It is truly sad, but IF they really knew the dangers they showed poor judgement. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 6, 2010 Super User Posted October 6, 2010 The front page story in today's Houston Chronicle is stating both the U.S. and Mexico authorities are doubting her story. You can read it at: www.chron.com Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 7, 2010 Super User Posted October 7, 2010 The front page story in today's Houston Chronicle is stating both the U.S. and Mexico authorities are doubting her story. You can read it at: www.chron.com This story is getting more and more interesting, although the article I read from that site only stated that the Mexican authorities were doubting the story and the US authorities were saying that any doubt was "unwarranted." Hopefully they find the body within the next couple days and the US investigators can get to the bottom of this. Quote
