Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 2, 2010 Super User Posted October 2, 2010 We've all seen or gotten those emails telling you that so and so is holding millions of dollars for you. Send them all your personal info such as bank numbers, social security number etc., and the money will be deposited into your bank account. This one is a little more modest. They are only going to get 154 dollars. Here's the entire email. Funny, it lacks my name. Why do you suppose that is? After all, they have to know it. They intercepted a package that was sent to me. I wonder how many buffoons will be taken in by this one. What if there really is an ATM card? How much can I access? Five bucks? Five cents? In one place it says they have to because of the anti terrorism laws, then they say it's to protect against identity theft. NateFollmer Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I have been getting random emails at work from people sending me resumes. I would have fallen for it if I didn't look at the file type. The file name was resumedoc.exe... The email is actually written very well too. Quote

This in turn will only fuel the next wave of kids to try their hand at the same tactics...... or worse! But keep up the good thoughts. Quote
Adi Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I work at the FBI Tipline. You will not believe how many people still fall for the millionaire and I love scams. It's scary. Trust me when I say we are all in the wrong professions. Quote
