Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 30, 2010 Super User Posted September 30, 2010 I don't have a Chicago Style Pizza very often and got a craving last weekend. The nearest Pizzeria Uno's was too far away, so I decided to make one. Sausage, pepper & onion deep dish. Not Lou Malnati's, but it was very tasty. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 30, 2010 Super User Posted September 30, 2010 There's no such thing as Chicago Deep dish pizza, but there is a Chicago Deep Dish lasagna!! ;D Quote

I'm from Detroit and there are several Pizzerias that serve deep dish pizzas ( square), I love them and unfortunately there is nothing like it in my area Florida. I was weened on Buddy's, original location 6 mile and Conant, Shields pretty good too. Quote

Don't speak if you don't know anything about it. X2 and coincidently, my all time favorite was from a place named Chicago's. Can't get it out in the suburbs though so we make do with Vita Bella's, still excellent, but not the best. I'm not all that big a fan of Lou Manalti's, don't like their crust. Quote
VolFan Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 My wife's from Lisle, she's not a fan of Malnati's either. She loves her some deep dish though, and she really likes Bugsy's in Old Town Alexandria here. She also likes the super thin square pizza ya'll have in Chicago; we never could find or make a good sub for that here. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 1, 2010 Super User Posted October 1, 2010 We're real lucky to have this place here in town: http://www.chestercab.com/chestercab/ Quote
NateFollmer Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 We're real lucky to have this place here in town: http://www.chestercab.com/chestercab/ I'm surprised that guy doesn't get death threats from the 'Yorkers... They love their cardboard pizza! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 1, 2010 Super User Posted October 1, 2010 They sell NY style slices. He's no dummy. Besides, we're like 8 hours from NY City. There's only one place outside of NYC that has anything remotely close to actual NY style crust, Joe's Brooklyn Pizza. Quote

They are pretty hardcore about their pizza I must say though, New York style pizza is amazing with a whole bottle of hot sauce on top Quote

Captain Obvious Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I'm from Texas but my family hails from Chicago. Down here all we get is that New York style stuff. But I thank God every night that my parents showed me what real pizza should be. Real men eat deep dish pizza Quote
Uncle Leo Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Born and raised on the South Side and live in South Suburbs so I think I may be qualified to speak about Chicago Style Pizza. The best by far is from Giordano's, a close second is Connie's. I welcome anyone to pay a visit and I will share a pie with them. Quote

I like Giordanos stuffed pizza, but had it once in Orlando and it was horrible. Must be the ingredients. Uno's is good on Rush and Ontario but I don't care for their other locations. Might also be the ambiance. My brother is a Lou's fan. I never cared for it. Nancys is good but too expensive. If you wanna go thin crust Riggios on Oakton and Milwaukee is the shiznit. Quote
SharkHat Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 I like deep dish, but St. Louis style is far superior. Quote
