When I'm in the car I listen to sports talk radio all day. However, when I have my admin days I kick it with Pandora all day.

Anyone else use it?

Its an online radio station you can use to completely customize to build you own radio station. You need to register, but I haven't received one spam email from them. legit.

Guy at work has it.  He types in a song and artist.  Eventually the program gets around to playing it.  In the meantime it plays just about everything else but the song you requested.   I can't see paying for that.

Yeah, I stopped using it when the ads started. Plus Pandora's definition of "similar" is a little too liberal when it comes to picking songs.

I use Last.FM on my xbox pretty regularly. It has cool slideshows of whichever artist is currently playing as well.

I find that pandora mobile has much less ads.  I listen to it 8 hours a day almost at work and hear 1-2 ads a day.  I agree with fourbizz, their "similiar" is a little too loose

Why not just get an ipod, load it with what you want to hear and be done with it?

It seems that all these other programs are like drugs.  They start out fine, get you hooked, then morph into the same ol', same ol', commercial ventures.

I got an ipod years ago.  Put audio books on it, favorite albums, favorite songs, etc.  Most of the time, when travelling I'll listen to an audio book.  The length varies from six or seven hours to nearly thirty hours for any given book.

In some of the newer cars, they link directly to a touch screen on the dash, and mount into a dock in the glove compartment, out of sight of would be thieves.

It's another symptom of old age.  Never heard of Pandora radio until this thread.  I have heard of Pandora's Box.  Seems Pandora radio was aptly named.  Seemed like a great thing initially, but bites you in the end.

Mobile app on droid is free and plays like 1 10 second ad every 20 songs or so. I listened to it for 2 hours today, but didn't hear any ads.

The web version plays way too many ads, but has more features. Think about how much something like that takes to run. They have to make money somehow.

I used last.fm but they don't seem to have the same quality of music. seemed to be more underground than Pandora.

I stream Pandora on my EVO every day, all day long at work.

It is rare that I hear more than two ads in an 8-hour work day.....some days I don't hear any at all.

Pretty happy with it.

Listening to my Everclear station

If you like listening to music while on your computer, I love this one:  http://www.tropicalglen.com/

Nothing but oldies, you get to pick the year(s) and all top 100 songs.  Nothing after '89 and you can go back to the 50's if you like.
