No, but when growing up we would fish out of 16-foot skiffs in the Mississippi Sound and Biloxi Marsh and put the trout and gaftops in the livewell with the shrimp to keep them alive and then harvest them at the 36-foot yacht for dinner that evening.

Fantastic!

Especially the gaftops. Pure white, tender meat. Out of this world.

So I can understand what you are saying about catching and eating the fish immediately.

I've caught and eaten a lot of fish in my life, but I've never once been hungry enough to eat the bait.

Out of the ocean, No.  I have, however, caught a salmon straight out of the Ausable river in Mi. and cut it up on the shore and eaten it with wasabe and soy sauce.  Don't forget the cold beer.  It was the best I have ever eaten......

Nope but my dad has. He was fishing for marlin in hawaii and they were using tuna for bait.

To make a long story short they hooked in too a 1,000lb marlin and lost it at the boat.

So they ate there bait as sashimi with cold beer and drank away their pain of losing the marlin

Yes,Yellow tail tuna. Soy sauce and wasabi.

Don't do it with Dorado tho, dorado carry parasites.

Here's one pic of three albacore i caught two months ago. I ate pieces while cutting it into steaks with Soy sauceimg][img]
