lsufan334 Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 OK guys its officially first day of LSU football i got the fried pickles ready to fry and my wife is cutting up the vittles for the gumbo. Come to south alabama and watch the BAYOU BENGALS and yell tigerbait!!! at all the crimson tide fans i got for neighbors ;D Quote
brushhoggin Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 i'm worried for my tigers this year. with all the scrutiny Jeffersons been under, i hope he's ready, along with the o-line. god my girlfriend is so annoying with her roll tide crap, it's gonna break us this year Quote
lsufan334 Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 dude try living in bama. luckily i was able to change my wife from auburn to lsu. but crap crowton has gotta go. exciting but very dissapointing game lastnight Quote
Super User Tin Posted September 5, 2010 Super User Posted September 5, 2010 That was like watching two different games. Les Miles needs to go, I can't figure out why it took so long to put Peterson in and to tell the defense to not let that big tight end and the Tar Heels wide receivers to get on the inside. The Heels were missing 9 starters, most of which on defense, and LSU couldn't get anything going in the second half. It's going to be a long year with this offense. But Florida showed that they will get rocked once they start playing SEC teams and probably won't finish the season in the top 25. I'm willing to bet none of the teams in the SEC go undefeated and Arkansas and Auburn surprise everyone. Quote
1inStripes Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 LSU just about got 3rd and Chavis'd apparently. I went to bed and didn't finish watching it, but you dont want to be protecting a slim lead when the Chief is calling the defense. MUSTANG Package time. Quote

He was wanting to blitz the best cover corner in the NATION. He is soooo brilliant : Quote
aarogb Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Yeah man I would be worried if I were a LSU fan. We were that close to winning after being down 30 to 10 in late in the third. Quote
choupique Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I am not so quik to blame LSU's defense, if the offense had at least scored a field goal in the second half it would not have come down to the final play like it did. Miles and Crowton need to go! Quote
bmadd Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Chavez's defense is schemed to not allow for big plays. That means though that you can throw the ball for 10-15 yards a pop all day long. He's a dumb a** and I'm glad he's in Death Valley and not Rocky Top ;D Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I've said it before and I'll say it again...FIRE GARY CROWTON!!!! I like Les, but Crowton is terrible. Jefferson was effecient, besides the intentional grounding and the pick, which meant nothing, and the d-line looked pretty stout, but Crowton's playcalling and our secondary sucked!! Also, was it just me or did Nevis DOMINATE even more than Glen Dorsey used to do? Quote

I agree about crowton. I think miles will throw him under the bus before the year is out to save his own ***. IDK about the Nevis/Dorsey comparison. Post dirty block maybe. But he did play good Sat. choupique Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Yes, Nevis played like an animal. As good as Dorsey maybe only time will tell. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 8, 2010 Super User Posted September 8, 2010 OK guys, here are the problems with the Fighting Tigers: 1. Jefferson still does not pick up the defenses and he runs with the ball after checking off on this first two receivers in lieu of hitting the third receiver. He is a junior and he still has a lot to learn. 2. Mo Claiborne was out of position on those two long UNC pass plays. Mo is a freshman and when the sideline coaches yelled at him to watch for the long ball on both plays Mo did not understand the message so he got burned two times. 3. Peterson and others started to cramp which is not acceptable. Happened to both teams. 4. D-Line and linebackers were excellent. Nevis was super. 5. O-Line was OK, giving up only one sack all night when dummy Jefferson took himself out of the play and threw the ball away which was a penalty taking the Fighting Tigers out of field goal range. 6. Ball security seems to be an issue that must be addressed. Too many fumbles (2) at critical times. 7. The stupid penalties keep coming. The guys need to play with intensity but come on, THINK! Don't be an animal as you will get caught and stop a drive or give your opponent the opportunity to continue their drive like in the UNC game. Overall, the team looked good on defense but weak on offense. Let's see if there are any improvements against Vandy and then we can enjoy a week off before West Virginia invades Tiger Stadium. Quote
