Super User BASSclary Posted September 2, 2010 Super User Posted September 2, 2010 Anybody else heard of the 8 footer Bull shark caught today on the Potomac river? Buy, how much fun it would be to pull in that baby on an unbreakable ugly and a Revo with 65# braid ;D If I fought that fish and didn't know I had a shark I think i'd better change my pants when I pulled it ashore. Super User .dsaavedra. Posted September 3, 2010 Super User Posted September 3, 2010 i thought they caught it two days ago. i heard they got one in the patuxent too Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 3, 2010 Author Super User Posted September 3, 2010 They caught one today also supposedly. Maybe all these sharks coming in the river's are due to instincts from the approaching 'cane? Im not talking about the one Micro posted, I heard this one on the news this afternoon Quote
bass or bass ? Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Bulls can travel hundreds of miles upstream in rivers all over the world. People are killed frequently by them in the Ganges River in India. I once saw one in Cypress Creek in Ft.Lauderdale Florida all the way back where the fresh water lock is located, and people ski and swim in Cypress all the time! I never went more than knee deep in there after seeing that shark. It was a good 6 feet in length. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 4, 2010 Super User Posted September 4, 2010 The water where these fish are being caught is salt water. It's not like they're catching them at the Key Bridge. That COULD technically happen but I don't see why everyone is so shocked about them catching a shark in those waters. Quote

1inStripes Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I had abouta 4 foot sand shark swimming around me all day while fishing for blues. I never could snag that critter. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 4, 2010 Author Super User Posted September 4, 2010 While at the OBX this summer I caught about a 3 footer fair and square. She was a purdy little sand shark so she got some sugar and back into the water she went 8-) Quote
