VABassin'14 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Report just came on ESPN that Favre has been telling teammates and friends that he isn't going to return to football this season. I won't believe it untill the season start and hes not in pads. Quote
SlateTundra Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 I won't believe it till the 2010 season is over. ESPN is drooling over the guy right now as if the guy is officially retired...pathetic. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted August 3, 2010 Super User Posted August 3, 2010 Good lord, here we go again. You know, I really enjoy watching Favre play. The guy really looks like he's having a good time. But damnit man, just stop already. Retire. Probably would help it if ESPN didn't become the Brett Favre network each year around spring training for the NFL. I'll believe it when he misses the first five regular season games. Quote
shootermcbob Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 He is a great player, no doubt. Also, a very selfish person in holding his teams hostage while he soaks up all the attention. Even his agent called him a "drama queen". However, some of those sears commercials he does crack me up. ;D Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted August 3, 2010 Super User Posted August 3, 2010 I think he should schedule an hour long dog-and-pony show on ESPN to announce his decision... wait that's already been done. Never mind. Quote
NateFollmer Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Maybe he should just stick to doing commercials... How many times can 1 person retire? Quote
Super User slonezp Posted August 3, 2010 Super User Posted August 3, 2010 Was he crying like he did the very first time he announced retirement? NateFollmer, to get the proper answer to your question you need to ask Michael Jordan Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 3, 2010 Super User Posted August 3, 2010 I used to idolize that guy, now...what an egocentric jerk. I really love how he still plays the good ol' country boy act. What a joke. Quote

What a joke. I know what you mean. He was once a hero, now a zero. It is a real shame. I know some folks from Wisconsin that used to worship this guy... Quote
Super User 5bass Posted August 4, 2010 Super User Posted August 4, 2010 If he wants to skip camp he should just tell them he'll report a week before the season starts. No need to leak retirement talk again just to get out of camp. I wouldn't think his ego would let him end his career with a bad interception, just minutes away from the Super Bowl. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted August 4, 2010 Super User Posted August 4, 2010 He'll be back. He's the terminator..... ;D Quote
christopherjake Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Heard it before. Let's see what happens when the season starts. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted August 4, 2010 Super User Posted August 4, 2010 HERE WE GO AGAIN!!! Falcon Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted August 4, 2010 Super User Posted August 4, 2010 Favre said those words and statements didn't come from his "compound". The media driving the bus and as usual, guys jump on this hook line and sinker. ;D ;D ;D Quote
BadKarma42 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I just heard on the radio ("The Herd") via Ed Werder that Farve will play if healthy. Apparenlty Werder found Farve and "cornered" him, based on what Collin said. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted August 4, 2010 Super User Posted August 4, 2010 Good grief...ESPN is gonna milk this cow until she shrivels up and falls over dead. Quote
Eddie Munster Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 A couple observations........ Brett is without doubt the most selfish, biggest attention wh0re in football. He is T.O./Ocho Cinco squared and if you think he did this for money, you're mistaken. He'll take the extra money but he just wanted people to court him back to the Vikings. He is also one of the OLDEST looking 40 year olds NOT working in a Waffle House. Heard this on a sports radio show and not sure if it's accurate. If he were to retire now, his last pass with each franchise were all interceptions. ;D Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 5, 2010 Super User Posted August 5, 2010 I can understand any top tier athlete not wanting to hang it up. If he can win, stay healthy and not hurt the team, I say why not. If he can't then it's time to go. Quote
TommyBass Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I think he gets a bad wrap for not much of a reason. Who cares if he can't deceide whether to play or not. You would too at that age and for that amount of money. He's good for the game, and is still better than the vast majority of the QBs out there. Sure he could of handled some things differently, but in the end I think hes still a decent guy who loves to play the game... you rarely see his amount of heart out of players this day and age. Im not a Packer/Vikings or even an NFC fan... just the way I see it. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted August 5, 2010 Super User Posted August 5, 2010 He is trying to get one more record before he leaves for good. In the Guiness Book of Records, for the most times coming out of retirement. Quote
