Super User Root beer Posted July 21, 2010 Super User Posted July 21, 2010 Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell and ConocoPhillips are forming a joint venture to create a rapid-response system to capture and contain oil spills in deep water. I don't have a link yet, but it was flashing on my screen just few seconds ago. I got to go make an errand and when I get back a story will be published somewhere. Who says oil company don't care? ;D Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I think Exxon needs to go clean up their old mess : That's good though! I hope they can get this contained soon before it completely wipes out the Gulf fishery. Quote

However, having read the article, the type of technology being discussed far surpasses the type or mandatory response capacity I was talking about. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted July 21, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 21, 2010 This has me rolling on floor, however, I feel bad for BP's executives. lol. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704684604575381202807690316.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_LEFTWhatsNewsCollection#articleTabs%3Dcomments Two things: 1) How was pension fund misled? BP told the government in plain English was their plan was, I highly doubt they made a public release saying otherwise. 2) If the pension fund wins the lawsuit, how will BP pay? Are they going have to liquidate more oil field and assets? I love how the article says between 2005-2010 they lost $200 million. LOL. ;D They been losing money for 5 years and now they want sue them for misleading them on their safety procedures? ;D Quote
