Super User fishfordollars Posted July 19, 2010 Super User Posted July 19, 2010 If you happen to read this i had the serial numbers included on the police report for the three electronic units as well as the gps antenna. Good luck pawning them in the Houston area. The four rods and five tackle boxes loaded with hard baits are yours to put where the sun doesn't shine. The police caught your buddies in a house a mile from me several hours later. I got my air compressor, my weed eater, and my edger back. Enjoy the pennies you will make. Please return to my garage, i am patiently waiting with weapon in hand. Sorry, i had to get this off my chest. D%&N Meth Heads Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I feel your pain. My car was broken into as it sat behind my house in my driveway. I was lucky, because all the guy took (after going through everything) was my GPS. The police officer said that these drug addicts will walk through the neighborhood at night and break into cars looking for something they can pawn. It is such a shame. They should institute the death penalty for these guys (I know it sounds harsh, but something extreme should be done with these clowns) Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted July 19, 2010 Super User Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry you got ripped. Society is on a decline big time. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted July 19, 2010 Super User Posted July 19, 2010 Sucks! Had it happen to me once a few years back. I took a weekend trip in Wisconsin. The boat was covered and parked in the well lit marina parking lot with other boats. I had removed everything from the boat or so I thought. I forgot a tacklebag full of soft plastics and the bow mount fishfinder. The marina management was no help. Their excuse "There are signs posted saying they are not responsible" Lesson learned. Quote

And I'm sure they probably had the entire thing on camera too and wouldn't even let the police see it... Theft is a HUGE problem in my area, I bet we have more druggies per square mile than anywhere else Luckily I love out of town and there isn't much foot traffic, but I still worry. I may not have my pistol permit (yet) but you can bet I'll hook any SOB that gets near my stuff with a nice big muskie plug! Quote
helms83 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 During my last deployment to Afghanistan my house was broken into twice. Never got any info from the police about either event. It sucks being 7500 miles away and not being able to handle your personal affairs. I feel ya. Quote
brushhoggin Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 very tough break man, sorry to hear it. it should be ok to shoot them on site like rodents that get into the garden. no one will ever miss them Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted July 20, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 20, 2010 Will your insurance cover it? Yes, but the money they are offering ought to be ruled as robbery. I'm getting it on both ends. Everything is documented with pictures. It doesn't seem to help though. Quote
SDoolittle Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 That sucks! I hope this doesn't keep you off the water. Quote

I kind of like what some countries do, like amputating the hand of a thief. Certainly is a badge that's hard to conceal. Nothing like a glaring advertisement showing what you're about. Quote

Super User Munkin Posted July 21, 2010 Super User Posted July 21, 2010 I was lucky as the police actually caught the guy trying to take stuff out of my boat. The only thing it cost me was $9 parking by the courthouse for his trial. Judge sentenced him to 18 months in jail as he had two prior B&E convictions. Allen Quote
