Super User cart7t Posted July 14, 2010 Super User Posted July 14, 2010 Got caught with your hand in the cookie jar, did ya? The old popcorn trick. ;D Would that be the old "Pee Wee Herman Popcorn Bucket" trick ? No, see the movie "Diner"
Other. Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 I just got back from his house. It actually went smoother then expected. He basically explained his role as a father. And that I have some decisions to make with me being older (I'm two and a half years older ) and if me being in a relationship that has to be forced to move slower is what I really want. The way he put it the leash on our relationship has been pulled and we are on a much shorter leash now. He regrets giving us so much freedom. He let me stay around after with his daughter in his house but I wanted to just get out of that house. Some mistakes I did was I was not really that social. he gave me a time to tell him anything I wanted to tell him but I just said there was nothing and let him do all the talking.
1inStripes Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 If you ever have a daughter one day you will understand. Im already dreading what may go down in the future and how I handle things.

Other. Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 She's 15 not 14. I honestly don't see anything wrong with it. Girls mature at a younger age then guys do anyways. At her age most guys are still baby faced so girls look for older guys. It's 2-3 year difference relationship under the age of 18 is more common then what you guys might think. I like her, I'm willing to move a little slower like her dad said for her. It took me four months of dating her before deciding she was the girl I liked to ask her to be exclusive to me. She was also the only girl I was seeing at the time. In Maryland it's hard to find girls that are drug-free and conservative.

fish-fighting-illini Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 At my house it is 1yr age difference maybe, 2 years forget it. As far as the maturity thing that is not the way I see it. A boy's testosterone is about 7yrs ahead of his age so that trumps all.

You are way off on the testosterone thing that it actually does not even make sense. What group exactly are boys producing more testosterone then? It peaks in your mid 20's and starts to decline after that. And more testosterone does not mean more sex drive.
Nibbles Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I remember my teenage years - 14 through 18 was when the hormones were pumping like crazy and I just couldn't keep certain dirty thoughts off my mind for long. It's tapered off a little bit now - the urges are a bit easier to control. Also, it's pretty much a given that the typical teenage guy has sex or sex-related thoughts more often than the typical teenage girl.

If you were looking for encouragement and high fives, you should have polled a group of other teenage boys.

You took your little problem (which you won't even explain leaving it to our imagination) onto a public forum. How smart or mature is that? Stop your whining. Grow up and take your lumps.

Must have to make that statement. : I don't want to hear the whole girls mature earlier than boys. You are too old for a 15 year old. She is too young for a boy who is almost 18. 1inStripes Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I stick to the half your age + 7 rule. I may need to remember that later in life.
Nice_Bass Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 15, and 17...What, that is a sophomore dating a senior....happens all the time and I am believe I did it back in HS as well. Get off the kids back, he has plenty of time to be an adult in less than a year. On that note, Other. realize that you will be an adult in less than a year, and it is fair game for that girls father to really buckle down along with the rest of the world on you for everything you do. I have a daughter, I am just lucky she is not in HS yet, this could change my preception here soon.
Captain Obvious Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Sorry 15 is just way to young to have a semi-serious relationship And that's coming from a guy who was a teenager last year. I'm not saying that down the road when she is 19 and your 22 that the age thing will be a factor. But let the girl grow out of her Hanna Montanan days first.

Super User grimlin Posted July 15, 2010 Super User Posted July 15, 2010 Maybe it's because i don't have a daughter...but i can't see anything wrong with a 15 & 17 either. I always thought the mens were older than their wives? I have never dated a woman my same age my entire life......Heck my wife is 7 years younger than me. :-/
nick76 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 The whole 15-17 age thing is really common in high school. You figure that most schools mix kids from the 14-19 age ranges all the time when they reach high school, so to think that these kids will not date or do "inappropriate" things with one another is just nonsense. I have a 16 yo daughter who will be a senior this year and I would not have a problem with her dating a 14 or 18 year old boy as long as he is respectful and intelligent about his decisions with her. It sounds like this boy may have an urge that puts him at risk for not being trusted with another mans daughter. I would highly recommend you cool your jets, realize that this girl is just 15 and there is plenty of time to chase tail after you decide she is not the one. At 15 we all thought we had the cat by the tail, by 30 most of us realized we were WRONG. This kid is just being a "kid", hopefully he understands his actions before being a "kid" gets him hurt or killed in an adult world. Now stay out of trouble.

Preface my statement with this: I have two daughters 18/16 who I didn't let date until they turned 16. My wife and I drove them to/from school everyday and keep them involved in church. They are under constant ADULT supervision or were until they turn 16. If you had sexual contact with my daughter in ANY way before the legal age of consent (which it sounds like you did with that girl), your butt would be facing prosecution and you'd be a registered sex offender for the rest of your life. If that happened, good luck trying to get a good job, live anywhere you want, etc..... Are you beginning to see how bad this could go for you, yet? You better walk the straight and narrow or that girl's dad may press charges. And the second part of your statement about finding a conservative girl; with what you had in mind why were you looking for a conservative one? So you could turn her away from that? Please, give us some insight as to that thought process........ :

If he under 17 when it happened it most likely could be dropped on his 18th birthday. : But again, every state is different, sooooo. Who cares, the girl's father seems to accept his apology, so quit busting his balls. I think some parents should take a long hard look at both their daughter and son. I think some father still think their daughter are princess and it all the boys fault....Totally wrong. It not always the boys. I've met girls like that. I'm sure those of you that are a father right now have met girls like that. Things are not always what it seems.
