Super User burleytog Posted July 12, 2010 Super User Posted July 12, 2010 Glad the d**n thing is over. Didn't watch a second of it. I'd rather watch 24 hours of Lifetime or Oxygen than a single soccer game. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 12, 2010 Super User Posted July 12, 2010 Sadly, this years Cup was marred by excessive diving from some teams, and horrible officiating. If you really want to watch some "good" soccer, check out the English Premier League. The season starts in like 33 days. You'll often find very good quality matches week in and week out. Teams generally always go 100% no matter what. Understandably, teams in the World Cup don't go full blast all the time. One mistake and you could be on your way home. This year it was taken to a different level though. Germany and Argentina were the only genuinely entertaining teams to watch. I absolutely love the sport, and even I dozed off during some of the matches. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 12, 2010 Super User Posted July 12, 2010 Hookem, You are in Arkansas and don't like college football? Other than college football what sports are in Arkansas? Bass_Fanatic Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 My rule of thumb: If the score is in SINGLE digits, I want NO part of it. That includes soccer, hockey, baseball, and most women's sports!! Quote
Captain Obvious Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 My rule of thumb: If the score is in SINGLE digits, I want NO part of it. Ok I never understood this. The only reason that football and basket ball have more than a one point system is because there is more than one way to score. I mean think about it this way if in football a TD counted for 2pts and a field goal counted as 1pt and a safety counted as 1pt then most of your scores would look like 8-4 or 10-6. But would that make a 40 yard TD pass any less exciting? Basketball could go on a 1 pt system too and you have scores like 50-54 or 60-56, but does that make a slam dunk any less cool? You don't know what your missing out on if you don't watch playoff hockey Just my $0.02 Capt.O Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted July 13, 2010 Super User Posted July 13, 2010 If I had a choice between watching soccer or watching my grass grow, I would choose the grass. It's much more exciting. Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Hey Scorcher214...I LOVE watching Lacrosse. They actually score 15 or so points and they beat each other with the sticks. I dont know much about it, but it is pretty fun, unlike the other sports I have already named Quote
