So, after the third transmission failure in six months on my work truck (that's another story altogether), it gets even better.

I get my truck back last Wednesday from having the trans replaced. I get dispatched to a job, everything is good so far. Thursday morning I get another job. I get into my truck and there is no movement whatsoever in forward or reverse. Wonderful.

So I load up a couple of boxes of tools into the only truck available at the shop. I was supposed to check out a sportfishing yacht that had an overheating problem. I arrive at the marina and carry one of my toolboxes down to the boat. I set the box onto the dock and board the boat. I grab the handle of the toolbox and start to pull it towards me. As soon as I had the full weight of the box, the %@*^#@& handle breaks and there goes about $1500 worth of tools to the bottom of the marina ! I was stunned to say the least. I was able to proceed with stuff from my second box in addition to some tools that were on the boat.

It turns out there is an employee in our company that dives recreationally. I made arrangements to meet him this Monday to try for a recovery. However, the owner of the boat and a buddy of his were able to snag the box at low tide using a long handled saltwater fish gaff on Thursday night. They put the box inside a large Igloo cooler and filled it with fresh water until I was able to get down there yesterday morning and get them back. Yesterday afternoon was spent drying and oiling every single tool in that box.

But wait, it gets better. On Friday afternoon one of our other mechanics fell off of a boat while the boat was docking after a sea trial. He was not hurt at all, the only casualty from that was a cell phone.

Sooo, how did your week go ? :o

So, let's recap:

1. You had a transmission that was professionally replaced fail out of the box. It will be repaired under warranty I assume.

2. You dropped a full box of tools into the ocean, but you were able to finish the job and the tools were recovered with no loss.

3. Your co-worker fell off a boat while docking, and the only damage was to a cell phone.

Sounds like your week could have been far worse. ;)

BTW you must really be hard on transmissions. ;D

I rode a mountain bike down a singletrack trail with rocks and bermy curves only to get thrown over the bar at full speed which involved busting my shoulder, bruised hip bone, and countless of scrapes and cuts. I still have don't have 100% full range of motion in my shoulder.

I'll still ride that trail again, I just need a new bike. Can anyone loan me 2,500 bucks? ;D ;D

How about last thursday...........took me an hour to make a 25 minute commute.  Finally got into town and decided I better get some grub, pulled into McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich and there were 25 cars in line. Pulled out and headed to the other one in town.....same thing.  Waited in line, finally got my order and when she hands me my drink the lid falls off and I am soaked with Iced Tea.  Go to grab my hashbrown and burn the heck out of my mouth.  Get to the office and I hear something running.  During the night the toilet float broke and was pumping water all night (mind you water is like gold here).  Had to replace that.  Get ready to leave for the day and my mother calls to inform me that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Make it over to my cousins house where I am doing some remodeling for her and all of my help is sick and not coming, but I have a sheet rock delivery going to be there at 8am Friday.  Talk about a long night and a crappy day.

Misery loves company.

For me complaining is bad karma, I go with flow and just deal with it.

I worked a 10 hour shift on the 4th and a 9 hour shift on the 5th. That wasn't too cool but I can think of much worse scenarios.

Wednesday - Dog with pancreatitis = overnight vet stay $700

Friday - Fan clutch going out on car = $1000 repair bill which I didn't do and just bought a new car.

My wallet sure felt all that!!

Man, look at it this way... It can only get better. I try to laugh everything off because dwelling over bad experiences are just going to make it worse. There has to be a plus side to everything... Now who wants a hug?  :D

Last week I hooked this bass for over 4 hours,

It jumped clean over the boat,

broke my rod,

Left me out there with nothing but a paddle.
