Super User Bassn Blvd Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 and how and the heck did they get to the CWS? Quote
Shad_Master Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Texas Christian University - Wacko, Tx - they got there by spanking the University of Texas in the Super Regionals - and they are not done yet - this is a double elimination tournament Quote
Super User Root beer Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 It's same college in which the football program got beat by Boise State. Yes, the same school that might have went to national title to play Alabama if Nebraska had won. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 Well, their done now. They need to play FSU this Wednesday as part of the double elimination format. Hopefully, the Noles can send them packing, but if they play Matt Purke, the Noles may be headed back to Tally, he is one AWESOME pitcher. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 Texas Christian University Ft. Worth, Texas Mascot: Hornfrogs Don't count them out just yet. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 Who ever plays TCU next should be worried if the freshmen starts for TCU, I think he is 14-0 thus far. Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 Be afraid...be very afraid of TCU Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 TCU has the pitching. It was great to see some new names this year, like TCU, Clepson, Oklahoma and Florida in the CWS. LSU failed to make it out of the regionals due to poor pitching. Hey guys, its baseball so there is always next year. Quote

Now that was some poor pitching on Alabama part....I was disgust at pitching staff. I could have seen better pitching from a 11 year old at the local ball park.. Quote
Shad_Master Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Having lived in Omaha for almost 20 years and being a fan of the CWS for lots longer than that - my recollection is that pitching has not been the key as much as speed and defense. Pitching seems to be rearing it's head this year, but I am still interested even when a team is up 4 or 5 runs late in the game, 'cause things can change quick. Love the CWS Quote
Super User Dan: Posted June 24, 2010 Super User Posted June 24, 2010 Pitching is always key in tournaments like this but by this point everyone has decent pitching. The teams that didn't have been sitting at home since the regionals. Oh, and is anyone else watching the TCU-FSU elimination game? Wow. Down by 5 then a rally including a grand slam and a 2-run HR in the 8th. Now they are up 11-7. Quote
Shad_Master Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 "Who is TCU"? - they are the Cinderella team that lost their glass slipper on the way to the ball - sure made it a fun series though - Fear the Frog Quote
