aarogb Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 That the Detroit Tiger pitcher missed a perfect game in one of the worst calls in sport history!!! I don't even watch baseball and that ticked me off. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 3, 2010 Super User Posted June 3, 2010 I've watched umpiring go downhill the past few years. I've always felt that bad calls balance out over the course of a long season. There is no balance here. This year, especially, umpires seem to be in the media more than I ever remember. That's wrong. Perhaps Joe West can record a song about this bad call. Quote

preach4bass Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I don't even watch baseball and that ticked me off. I'm not a baseball fan either, but when I saw that story on ESPN.com I felt like somebody kicked me in the gut. After something like this, I just don't understand why the "purists" don't want instant replay. Quote
1inStripes Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 At least joyce was man enough to go to Galaraga and admit he was wrong after watching a replay of it. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted June 3, 2010 Super User Posted June 3, 2010 The fact that this would have been the third perfecto in a month is beyond mathematics. I believe the previous two, in a month, hasn't happened since 1880. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 3, 2010 Super User Posted June 3, 2010 The good old human factor sucks , what a shame. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted June 3, 2010 Super User Posted June 3, 2010 As a die-hard Tiger's fan, I'm inconsolable. My wife, and I were watching the game, and when the call was made, I couldn't believe it. Every time I see the replay, I just get more upset. Armondo got robbed. Jim Joyce was man enough to apologize to Galaraga, but that doesn't change the fact, that he made an idiotic call. I have to stop now, because my blood pressure is going up again.LOL Falcon Quote
