JaxBasser Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 One of the greatest metal songwriters and vocalists of all time and the inspiration of many great vocalists to come along after him. Quote
Bigs Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 read this last night on yahoo news. I didnt realize he was 67 years old tho. He was one of the great metal singers of all time. I grew up on metal and Dio was the man. Rest in peace Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I saw Dio with Accept at MSG in 1986. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Crazy stage for the Sacred Heart tour. Dragons, Laser beams, a wild sword fight. It may seem a little 'over the top' but it was the 80"s and that whole decade was about excess. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 yep, sad news right there. Was credited for being the first person to use the devil horns. Quote

Yep seen him with Dokken that year, crazy laser beam guitar solo, and the drum solo was crazy too. Yep can't replace him Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I got to see him with Sabbath back during the Mob Rules tour. Awesome show. RIP Rocker. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 26, 2010 Super User Posted May 26, 2010 I meant to post about Dio but I got sidetracked by work. I listened to Dio all the way from his days with Elf, through Rainbow, Sabbath, and his solo days. The Sacred Heart tour in 85 - 86 was the most expensive and elaborate tour at the time. It was amazing how such a small man could have such a powerful voice. Quote
kms399 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 sad news indeed, i did get to see him with black sabbath, awesome show. Quote
