I am suggesting to everyone to use a Word document to construct your messages and then paste them onto the message area to send them especially if they are long.

Once again this morning I created a beautiful message to Brian and the site erased it when I hit the backspace key to make a correction.

This has occurred many times and I just have to remember to use the Word document and then cut and paste it onto the message area.

Glenn, do you think you could look into this and have it corrected?

Thanks.  :)

just hit forward on your browser and the message should still be there, i just tested it. also the reason your backspace key took you back one page was because you probably clicked outside of the box you type your posts/messages in, you can tell if youre in the box by whether the cursor line is flashing or not

I do the same, on ANY document that is more than a few sentences long. I don't lose emails or posts that way. I'm also a back-up freak: mirrored HD's, external HD, and CD's.

When posting something like a very good piece, article or report or anything of importance, I will use MS Word, no doubt.

When posting to something like this, I type in the given box. Sorry to hear about that. I too have experienced that and sometimes it's recovered and other times not. I did it enough times to use MS Word for posts that are more involved.

Yep, I've been victim to this same problem on several occasions myself.  Unfortunately the developers of the forum software haven't come up with a solution.  I'll mention it to them again.

Thanks, guys.

I am over my rant.

All is well with the world.

Taking today off to go fish my double secret farm pond and then visiting a friend, and former pro bass fisherman and guide, who is in hospice.

NASCAR tomorrow.  :)

another way is to just select & copy your text a couple of times as you go through and again at the very end. That way all you have to do is cut and paste should something go wrong.

I've had it happen as well when I go to hit the post button it goes into maintenance mode. ::) But what can ya do?

Press "Back" then wait till maintenance mode is over, and send it.

Gotta love maintenance mode. Out of the 20 or so forums I am on, this is the only one that does that. Weird.
