Super User 5bass Posted April 23, 2010 Super User Posted April 23, 2010 They did it again! "With the 8th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft...the Oakland Raiders select Rolando McClain, LB, University of Alabama" Give me a !@#$%%^ break. I know the LB's they have currently are bums but they need offensive linemen more than anything and defensive linemen....how 'bout a QB??? > Quote
aarogb Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The Raiders will also be a scrub team until they get Al Davis out of the picture. Quote
Boett43 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 He is a solid player though, tough to complain. haha and theres not QB for an O-line to protect in oakland. are the raiders running a 3-4 this year? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 23, 2010 Super User Posted April 23, 2010 Count on acquiring Big Ben. He will bring back "The Tradition". : Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 23, 2010 Super User Posted April 23, 2010 Roadwarrior is right. When I heard on Rivals today that Pittsburgh will probably get rid of Big Ben I thought that the Raiders would take him. By passing over quarterbacks, even Clausen who sucks big time, I figured something may be in the works to have Big Ben go to Oakland. How about an even trade? Jamarcus to Pittsburgh and Big Ben to Oakland? Sounds fair to me. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 23, 2010 Author Super User Posted April 23, 2010 Roethlisberger deal is off. Pittsburgh wouldn't trade him without getting a first round, top 10 pick. The Raiders just wasted theirs. Quote

1inStripes Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 5BL I will actually say this is the best draft pick the Raiders have made in years in the top 10. And that goes back a long way. You will end up very happy with McClain. Quote
bmadd Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I really like what your Raiders are doing today. Another receiver with the fastest 40 time looks like they're addressing qb though getting Jason Campbell. Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 24, 2010 Super User Posted April 24, 2010 Jason Campbell from the Deadskins. Jason is not that good. I can't him helping the Raiders but at least he can run as Jamarcus can't. But Jarmarcus can throw which Jason can't. Evens out. Quote
GLADES Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Campbell and Russell are both bums. They are the same player. I agree with RW, the Raider's will never be good until Al Davis is out. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 24, 2010 Super User Posted April 24, 2010 I think Campbell is getting raw deal. New off. coordinator every year, 3 head coaches on top of that. Just like most guys, give them some time and they can complete some passes. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 At least they didnt pick Bruce Campbell like some projected Quote
bmadd Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Come on Sam, I thought you'd show a little more love to two former SEC qbs. Russel has never had a good core around him. No line which doesn't help him or the run game. I still don't think he has what it takes to be an NFL qb though. Campbell I think could be a decent qb. But like Matt said, a different offense every year. Not the best o-line. He's had way too much pressure on him since he got started. I still don't think the Raiders offense will flourish though. He has a decent rb to take some pressure off, but without much of a line it will still be hard. Also, not sure Campbell will have receivers. Heyward-Bay can run but has bad hands. Not sure about this Jacoby kid. Defense should be good though! Quote
VolFan Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Campbell has had some awful (offal?) lines in front of hi the last couple years and not much to hand the ball off to or throw to, and he's still put up some decent numbers. He's also been jerked around alot, had some wacky personalities with limited talent around him and taken it all in stride. Come to think of it, he'll be right at home on the Raiders. Quote
NewAngler Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I think mcclain was a good pick for the Raiders. They have 100 needs, and only so many picks. As far as the Campbell thing, Oakland got the better deal, IMO. His stats aren't bad at all, top ten in yards I bet. He's been treated like crap the past year and a half, and has kept his head high. He's got great talent, and a great attitude. Take into consideration the 'Brad Johnson scenario', Oakland should be winning a super bowl shortly. Quote
BassThumb Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 The Raiders will also be a scrub team until they get Al Davis out of the picture. Can I hear an AMEN! AMEN!! I always get a laugh when the Raiders pick in round 1. I loved the look of relief on the Crabtree families faces last year when they passed on him and took Hayward-Bey. I do like the Campbell pick up. I've been rooting for that guy for years. I think a chance of scenery will be good for him. Quote
