NewAngler Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Is anyone else impressed with their off season? WOW. I bet they draft Okung to protect Fancy Hair, too. Sheesh... Look out! Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 20, 2010 Super User Posted April 20, 2010 LOL, didn't fancy hair beat your team last season? The deadskins. ;D Quote
NewAngler Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Yes. It was more like we lost the game than them winning it. I forget, I got hammered. Quote
Jake. Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Trading away Ernie Simms for a 5th round pick? :-X Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 20, 2010 Super User Posted April 20, 2010 They are still the Lions no matter what they do. ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 20, 2010 Super User Posted April 20, 2010 They simply can't pass on Suh. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 20, 2010 Super User Posted April 20, 2010 Lions need to much talent to make a 180 in one year. Tough call, you need to protect all that guaranteed money you just paid Stafford, but guys like Suh don't come along very often. Quote
aarogb Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 LOL at fancy hair. I think thats the first time I have heard him called that name. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 Please trade Calvin Johnson to a relevant team Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 Gotta give the Lions front office some props, they did get over on us Cowboys with that Roy Williams deal. And Roy Williams is home town boy, and former Longhorn to boot, and we got the worst end of that deal thus far in my opinion. Quote
bowfish12 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 They simply can't pass on Suh. That's what everyone thinks, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Quote
lightsout Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 They simply can't pass on Suh. That's what everyone thinks, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I agree, Suh looks like the greatest thing since sliced bread, but its a gamble taking a DT that high. How many cant miss tackles drafted in the top 10 have flopped over the years? More have been busts than have made an impact. I think they'll go with a tackle, but my sleeper pick is Eric Berry.Game changing safetys are VERY rare and change franchises. Quote

I think I need to clarify what I meant. I would not be surprised to see the Lions pass on Suh. Not b/c he's a risky pick (I believe he's one of two sure picks, the other being Berry), but b/c it's the Lions, they don't make many good decisions. Quote
Super User Tin Posted April 22, 2010 Super User Posted April 22, 2010 Please trade Calvin Johnson to a relevant team x2 I would love to see Brady throwing passes to him. ;D Quote

OIFBasser Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 If they don't take Okung, Matt Millen must still be behing the scenes. A big run on OT's is expected in the top 15 picks, and there are going to be some very good DT's in the 2nd and 3rd round. Detroits current LT is Jeff Backus who is a better fit at LG, and they need a guy who protect there grossly overpayed QB. A guy like Tyson Alualu would be nice to have at DE opposite KVB, and with Sammie Lee Parker and Corey Williams in the middle would make a sick Dline. That is all Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 22, 2010 Super User Posted April 22, 2010 Seems Detroit is trying to get Haynesworth from the Skins. Word is Skins trying to deal him cheap. If Lions took him, they'd most likely address that LT issue. MY Boys are rumored to being trying to trade Carpenter, Spears and Bennett to move up. I think Dallas would like to get UT safety Earl Thomas around 12-15th round. Quote
OIFBasser Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Earl Thomas is gonna be sweet, I also read that Choice is on that list. I know they would like to trade Barber, but he is already showing signs of wearing down, and won't net as high of a pick. if the Lions get Haynesworth...It's gonna be fun to see. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 23, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 23, 2010 'Hawks got Thomas AND Okung. Quote
detroit1 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Lets not lose our heads about the lions trading Megatron. Never happen. The same with a 180' turnaround. But- with the trades and the draft, they are going to be ALOT better. Our secondary will not have to cover recievers for 10 seconds every play. Yes, they are still many players away from making a stink, (o-line and LB's ) but i haven't been this excited for the season to start in quite a few years. I can't believe this will be my 30th year with season tickets. 1 home play-off win. SHEEEESH! Quote
