Looks like I'll be in your neck of the woods Mon - Thursday.  :)

Any places I need to see while there?  Recommend good eats?

Oklahoma Joe's

Ask for my brother-in-law, Steve Querry,

Manager/ Part Owner. Tell him we're friends

and see if he will set you up with a "sampler".

If you'll let me know when you might be there,

I'll give him a call.

Your evenings should be spent on The Plaza

and at least one night at the Sprint Center,

downtown.

For a formal dinner, The Plaza III is the premier

steak house. Private rooms are available. Their

claim to fame is creating the original steak soup.

This restaurant is comparable in every way to

Morton's or Ruth's Chris.

Staying with friends in Columbia.  Not sure on the itinerary, but taking an MO turkey with my bow is on the agenda. :)

Robert, about fifty miles north of Colombia, near Moberly, is a private game preserve called Trophy Country.  It's a fee based hunting and fishing area that offers some of the bass fishing I've ever encountered.  Catching a hundred bass in a day is a common occurrence.

Thanks for the offers guys.  I sincerely appreciate it.  I've never been to MO.

Long Mike, that place looks AWESOME.  I'm going to check with my host and see if there is a possiblilty to go there.

GMAN, thanks for the offer pal. I'll be in the Kansas City area, if you can come out, first round is on me. :)

Redline,

I will be in KC Friday-Monday and St. Louis the rest of the week. What specific night(s) are you going to be in Columbia? If our schedules match, I could meet you in Columbia for a beer, dinner, etc.

Addison's or CC's City Broiler are decent places to eat. It is a college town so you can find a bar just about anywhere.

No problem,  but lets make it the St. Louis area.  Its alot closer.   ;)

I've got a place not too far from St. Louis that is pretty good at times.

Geez...You don't take a knife to a gunfight.

Hunting during the day, Harpo's at night! No

fishing allowed.

This trip is shaping up to be epic. :)

Not sure epic would be the word to use when describing a trip to Missouri, unless of course you were coming during the summer and spending a hot weekend afternoon at LOZ in the infamous party cove. ;)

Robert, I just got back into town and saw this thread. Are you still around KC? If so, it would be nice to meet you. In addition to some of the places that RW mentioned, if you are still in the KC area, check out Justice Drugstore in Smithville, MO. Despite the odd name it is some of the best food in the area. A husband and wife run the restaurant and both worked as chefs in Paris, France. If you eat there you are looking at a minimum of $100 - 120 per couple for dinner but you won't forget it. The wine pairings are excellent as well. You will need to call for a reservation.

Hey guys!

My apologies for not getting in touch with you guys.  I'm staying out on a farm in Ashland, what a place!   They grow Christmas trees here, beautiful land.  Hoping for a Turkey tomorrow.

Updates later, getting up in a few hours.   :)
