Just about anything earlier than 1995 when i'm in the rare mood for country.

I cant stand this bubblegum BS that is all over the radio these days.

Same here. IF I listen to country, which is rare, I prefer the older stuff. If I want to listen to prefab manufactured crap, I'll turn on American Idol. You can't grow up hanging out at the mall and then sing about drinkin', fightin' and honky tonks.

If you have access to Sirius Satellite radio, check out the Outlaw channel or Willie Nelson's channel.

Johnny Cash

George Strait

Jamey Johnson (one of the few from today's era that sings real country)

Both the hanks, Paycheck,Haggard before he turned into a hillary supporter,Waylon (my all time favorite) and Cash. I like it if it is before Pre-bent cowboy hats and pucca shells.

Old Crow Medicine Show. end of story.

I like OCMS a lot

Jamey Johnson is good as well...High Cost of Living is one of my favorites right now

Just started listening to Brantley Gilbert...Best of Me is a good one.

But, to me you can't beat Eric Church. He is awesome. His live shows are the best. I love country music.

Just about any from pre 1980, mostly 50's-60's.  I'm not that old, but the older stuff is just more of what I would consider country.  My favorites would be a list too long, but the most immediate ones would be:

Marty Robbins

Waylon and

Conway Twitty

Going back further, my favorites would be:

Jim Reeves

Hank locklin

Eddie Arnold

Hmmm.....

George Jones

Johnny Cash

George Strait

Alan Jackson

Sammy Kershaw

Randy Travis

Brad Paisley

Brooks and Dunn

Garth Brooks

Some of today's artists and their music is the best

there has ever been. King George rules, but there

is a ton of great music being produced today. Carrie

Underwood, Sugarland, Reba, Teri Clark, Toby, Miranda

Lambert are just a few on top of their game.

Here is a new classic like those from the past:

A mix of both some old and some new - several have already been listed here.

A year or so ago I came across the music of William Elliot Whitmore ~ A unique voice and genuine music. The more I listen to it the more I like it.

Whats Country music??

Its all chopped up now, if the Eagles would have come out today it would have been country. I believe they don't know what to do with it anymore and its a shame.

I like any country up to 98, but you never played that dang Eddied Rabbit song in our house!!!!

Many of the older performers already mentioned.

I'd also add:

The Louvin Brothers

Gram Parsons

Emmylou Harris

The Sadies

Hank III
