Josh. Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Honestly I hate watching basketball. I think its like watching grass grow... But I like March madness. Who do you think will win the whole thing? I'm a Tennessee fan so im going for them! GO VOLS! Quote
Super User Marty Posted March 24, 2010 Super User Posted March 24, 2010 My predictions are useless but I root for Syracuse since they're the nearest big-time D-1 school. But I doubt they can go all the way without their big guy. If SU doesn't make it, i wouldn't mind seeing your Vols take it, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on it. Quote

When did it happen? I don't follow it that close as you can see but I filled out a bracket this year just for the heck of it. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted March 26, 2010 Super User Posted March 26, 2010 Butler beat Syracuse, no big man no title! Quote
Super User Marty Posted March 26, 2010 Super User Posted March 26, 2010 What happened to Syr's big man? When did it happen? Arinze Onuaku hurt his quadricep/knee in Syracuse's loss to Georgetown in the Big East tournament. I really feel bad for the kid. He's a senior, a good kid, a good student and he has to end his career on the bench like that. He had a towel over his face in the locker room after the game but everyone knows he was shedding tears beneath that towel. Quote
tallydude Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Sorry guys, but if Kentucky gets by West Virginia tomorrow night there will be no one left that can beat them. GO CATS. Quote

1inStripes Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Remember 2/27 Tallydude? There is a team left that not only can beat them, has beat them. But first UT has to get by Tom Izzo and the Spartans. Izzo is daggone good coach so it does have me worried, but I hope the Vols march to Indianapolis next weekend. Quote
tnbassfisher Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 First time TN has been to the Elite 8 in history. Go Vols! Quote
preach4bass Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Sorry guys, but if Kentucky gets by West Virginia tomorrow night there will be no one left that can beat them. GO CATS. IF IF IF IF "IF" IS SUCH A BIG WORD!!! ;D Quote
VolFan Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 That "IF" was too big...not that WVU didn't try to lose it towards the end. Bruce Pearl for COY! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 28, 2010 Super User Posted March 28, 2010 Ohio St. and Kentucky ?????????????????????????? Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Butler I'd like to see a small school win Quote
frogtog Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I stand corrected.... when I said at the first of the season that Duke might make the sweet 16. They have been playing some good ball. And they are also playing as a team. I haven't seem WV play yet, to busy fishing. So here it is. GO DUKE. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 29, 2010 Super User Posted March 29, 2010 WVU is going to be a huge test for Duke. Disappointing day for me, but I'm proud of the way Bruce's boys played. Amazing how the team came together after the 1/1 incident. Quote
Rebel Angler Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Duke beat Baylor woooh! I'm sayin it's gonna be Duke an Kentucky in the ship. Quote
Jake. Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Duke beat Baylor woooh! I'm sayin it's gonna be Duke an Kentucky in the ship. Kentucky already lost.... Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted March 29, 2010 Super User Posted March 29, 2010 My brackets look like swiss cheese, Kansas and Kentucky was my final. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 This has been an AWESOME tournament. I've enjoyed watching the Big East go down in flames, but I suspect WVU might be the team to beat; great defense and just enough offense. On the other side of the bracket I'm rooting for Butler, but would never bet against Izzo. Quote
Bigs Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I'm so sick of big market schools like Duke and Mich. State get all the calls in their favor. It's like watching a steelers or patriots game. You know that no matter how bad they play, the refs are gonna help them out. It's all abut advertising dollars to the network. Companies like Coke, Geico, Budweiser or whoever arent gonna pay as much for airtime or be viewed by as many people in a title game with the likes of Baylor, Butler , St. Mary's or Northern Iowa. Look at how much money was lost when the Vikings lost and now the NFL changed the overtime rule for that very reason. Favre vs. Manning would have made the network alot more cash then saints vs colts, it's just a fact of life. It's a reality. Having grown up with a father who is a promoter and former college/nba scout, I know what really goes on. Oh and, Kansas State fans, you have no idea how corrupt your athletic dept is btw, bunch of cheaters. Glad you guys lost! Basketball, esp highschool and college is a cutthroat dirty industry with lots of cash illegally being exchanged. Alot of it stems down to the AAU coaches and shoe companies such as Nike and Addidas paying kids, buying them vacations, cars, gold jewelery, etc... when their only 16 years old on the premise that when they turn pro, they will sign with that shoe company. Then every kid in the ghetto buys those 140 dollar chinese made shoes. It's hard for me to watch and respect the game anymore knowing how dirty and fixed alot of it is. Funny how Duke has nowhere even close to the talent of Kansas, Syracuse or Kentucky yet look at them. They got every call yesterday, end of story. Duke is like the NE Patriots of college basketball. 1inStripes Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I dont know what worse, the fact that he picked UK in the finals after the lost, or the fact that it wasn't even possible for Duke and UK to play each other in the finals. Quote

It's not reality. It's ignorance. : The Saints/Colts game was the most watched Super Bowl, and I believe the most watched television event ever. So, how does that cost the NFL money? Quit spewing your black helicopter conspiracy theory rhetoric and give Duke, and the other three teams that made it to the Final Four the credit they deserve. Quote
