Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 3, 2010 Super User Posted April 3, 2010 I'm on the fence. If you have one, tell us what you think! Quote
Super User Root beer Posted April 4, 2010 Super User Posted April 4, 2010 I think it is an ipod on steroids. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 4, 2010 Super User Posted April 4, 2010 IMO it is a product without a market. At least for me. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I predict that it will put the University bookstores out of business one day. Quote
Dean Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Not worth my money, I'll take my iPod touch anyday Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 4, 2010 Super User Posted April 4, 2010 a little steep for me. The basic models aren't too bad but to get one with a decent amount of memory and 3G capability you have to drop some coin...more than for a standard laptop with much more computing capabilities. I also don't think typing on a flat surface like that would be comfortable at all. I'm sure it's neat like their other products, i'm just not sure it's worth it to me. Quote
KYbass1276 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 IMO it is a product without a market. At least for me. I agree, I have the the Iphone and love it but when I seen this I was like ok so. Quote
FL Knifemaker Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 This is being discussed on two other forums I frequent.........and it's getting heated I'm going to get the 64GB, WiFi version. I have an iPhone and love the features, I just find it too small for any serious web browsing or overall functionality. I have a laptop but I hate trying to use it when I fly. IMHO, the iPad will do everything I need when I'm travelling or laying around the livingroom. I don't need a CD drive or an onboard keyboard. I would probably get the keyboard docking station to use in a hotel room. If the iPad will allow me to do Email, store photos while I travel and other simple, day to day tasks, it will work out perfectly for me. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Among the many shortcomings is the fact that you can't multitask with it. However, it's an Apple product, so it will sell ridiculous numbers to the hardcore Apple fans alone. Love my iPhone and my Powerbook, but I will never buy an "iPad" ;D Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 5, 2010 Super User Posted April 5, 2010 Another giant step backwards to the good old days when the hardware provider controlled any software that you can use. Next up will be the new software that will require a hardware update to run it, and on and on........ Quote
tyrius. Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I like the look and the interface, but I won't be a buyer until I can install whatever I want on it, multitask applications, and use some type of external memory device (usb drive). Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 5, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 5, 2010 I have no desire to get an I-Fad. Quote
fathom Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 if it don't fit in my back pocket, i don't need it. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted April 5, 2010 Super User Posted April 5, 2010 I have had the iPhone since its *** and think the iPad is just a Netbook with better sound and graphics! I love my little Ideapad, netbook, it fits perfectly in between the iPhone and Laptop. While watching t.v. I look things up, respond to emails, and look over spreadsheets and its about $200 less, not like I would care if it was more, but for the features why really get the iPad unless you have a specific application or your just an Apple fan. Also its great when traveling and I don't want to bring my 17 inch screened laptop. Quote
bocabasser Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I'm on the fence. If you have one, tell us what you think! i am considering getting one robert. i won't get an iphone because they are not waterproof (yes i know you can get a case). i have a macbook pro and i love it. the ipad would be nice for travel, internet access etc. i would prefer the itouch, but the internet only works in wifi areas. i have seen them and my friends seem to love theirs (so far). NewAngler Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 up until 3 minutes ago, i had no idea what an ipad was... Quote
Fishing Doug Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Nope. Met Steve Jobs 2 years ago and he was the biggest A-hole I have ever met. No Apple products for me. Quote
