SDoolittle Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Why in the world do text books cost so much? I am going to night school to try to finish what I started nearly 20 years ago. I'm taking two classes and paying $250 for books. I guess I shouldn't complain because Uncle Sam is covering 100% of the tuition. Quote
preach4bass Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Did you check e-bay, Amazon, or other online sites for used textbooks? Quote
SDoolittle Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 No, I had a guy who was supposed to sell me his used books, but that didn't work out. Now it's too late to try to order books. Classes start on Monday. Oh well. Quote
JigMe Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Buddy system worked for me in college, I have always shared my book with few classmates and we just split the cost. Quote
SDoolittle Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 I bought my books today. I was able to find one used book. My total was $231. I talked to a coworker who is also going to school and we agreed to flip-flop classes next semester so we can just trade books. Quote
topwater.va Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I paid 250 for one book last semester...not fun. There is some site on the web that you can buy sell and trade books with some deep discounts. I cant remember the name though. Quote
