Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 25, 2010 Super User Posted February 25, 2010 I have a soft spot for this one: Quote
Luke at Gouldsboro Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Coors Light. Back-ups are Miller high life, corona, labatt blue, and rolling rock Quote
NOVA Angler Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 My favortie is by far Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. I actually have a clone of this beer in the secondary fermenter right now! I prefer hoppy beers. Worst I've had is Old Chub which is a Scottish Style Ale. I cringed every time I took a sip. Too malty for me. Quote
whoopbazz Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Everyday kinda beers are Yuengling Lager ,Rolling Rock, and Miller Lite. As far as extra jingle kinda beers I like ***** Modelo , Becks, and Molsen XXX (KABLAM!!! we call it cause of it's strength...lol) Quote

I havent had a chance to try the 90 minute from Dogfish Head, but I had the 60 Minute. Good stuff. Let us know how the clone goes. Quote
Aaron Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Dos Equis Amber is my current favorite. Also enjoy Killians, Amber Bock, Miller Lite, Bud Light, and of course Budweiser (but only on tap) Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 From late fall to early spring, my every day beer is Miller Lite. From mid spring to mid fall, Corona with a slice of lime is my every day beer. If Yuengling were sold in CT, MA, or RI, it would be my every day beer year-round. Cheap and delicious. For other beers, I love Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Blue Moon (bottled, no orange), Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sam Adams Octoberfest, and occasionally I'll enjoy a Heineken as long as it's frosty cold. If I'm not drinking beer you'll see me with a gin & tonic. Not only am I in love with Bombay Sapphire, but I am scarily obsessed with it, which is why I try not to buy it too often. Quote
FL Knifemaker Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I would have to say that all the beers made my Paulaner are my favorite. Quote

I tasted it when I was transferring from primary to secondary fermenter and I liked it a lot. It's dry hopping in the secondary so that should add some good aromas to it. I'm going to bottle on Monday and then it needs 3-4 weeks in the bottle to carbonate before it's reaches optimal drinkability. If it turns out good, maybe we can work something out. I'll PM you. BTW, if you have Harris Teeter or Total Wine down there, they may carry it. I've found it in both places. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Bass Ale on a regular basis but when I want to treat myself, Chimay, it is heaven in a bottle. http://www.chimay.com/ Quote

Chimay is like silk. In the end, though, I like so many beers, my two favorite are: cold or free... and if you can get both, then life is truly good! Quote
done Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Depends on the situation for a hot and steamy southern day outside, I go Coors lite. When it is cool and dark (like after work in the fall or spring) Bass goes down nice. When I am indoors at a family party or something liek that Yuengling is good Quote
I.rar Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 MD 20/20 Ole English Natural Ice ;D i mostly drink bud light since its cheap and everywhere but i like yuenling? , blue moon , heiniken and sometimes corona. sweetwater 420 is also good. Quote
FL Knifemaker Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I just cannot understand how some people like Yuengling. There is NOTHING that I like about it. There are SOOOO many better, light pilsner style beers. At the bar I often go to, they have a dollar night for Yuengling. I wouldn't drink it if they paid me a dollar each :-/ Killians and Fosters are others that I just cannot understand any demand for. Then there's Mic Ultra. What IS that?? It's not beer. It's something created in a lab somewhere ;D Sorry if I've offended any fans of the above mentioned beverages Quote

I went to Piggly Wiggly the other day, and their beer selection is awesome. Not what I expected at all. Didn't check for 90 Minute but I'll grab next time if it's there. Strictly for research of course. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Pabst Blue Ribbon. America's best beer in 1893 AMEN!! Drank that a ton when I was in engineering school! Also, I love Paulaner Hefe-Wiezen, puts Blue Moon to shame, and I like me some blue moon to. Quote
-nick- Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I prefer the good ol Smirnoff Ice. ;D ;D Quote
bweave09 Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 O Dear God. Smirnoff Ice...someone get this guy a man beer... like a Zima. Quote

So I bought a small bottle of the Chimay (Blue Label) to try tonight based on the recommendations from this thread. It's pretty good and probably excellent if you like that style of ale. It was much smoother and easier to drink than the Scottish Ale I mentioned previously, but by 2/3 of the bottle (11.2 oz) I was done with it. I guess the malts just wear me down. I would say it's an excellent sipping beer. Quote
bweave09 Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 NOVA, ever had a Bear Republic Racer 5? Quote

I guess it wasn't obvious I was kidding? : I'm still at that point where I don't care about tastes, as long as it gets you shmammered. ;D Unless it's Natty light or Corona. Anything else I'm good.
