Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2010 Super User Posted February 22, 2010 I love when Brodeur gets humbled. lol But those Russians look good. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 22, 2010 Super User Posted February 22, 2010 This is the only type of hockey that I actually watch. It's pretty awesome that we are beating Canada in their country at their game. Tin, what countries are expected to get medals? Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 22, 2010 Super User Posted February 22, 2010 holy crap, the last 2:00 were very exciting. I thought I almost jinxed our team... Quote
VolFan Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 GREAT game! Russia and the Czechs was entertaining too! Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2010 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2010 I still don't know if they have what it takes to beat the Fins, Sweds, or even Russians. Different style of hockey imo. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 22, 2010 Super User Posted February 22, 2010 That was awesome. Quote
seyone Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 That was one of the best hockey games I have seen in a long time. Ryan Miller was a stud. Quote
Carrington Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 i have a good feeling the U.S. will pull out the gold. they just need to not let the other team stay on the u.s. side and take shot after shot the entire game. the goalie is the best in the nfl so they have a great goalie. if they focus i think they will win it all, "knock on wood". Quote
seyone Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 the goalie is the best in the nfl so they have a great goalie. . hmm. lol Quote

Captain Obvious Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 They have Goalies in the NFL!!!! Are they like Safeties or Linemen LOL Quote
SlateTundra Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I don't watch any hockey, but I heard all the talk about how this USA vs Canada could be like that "Miracle on Ice" game against the Soviet team. Now, I don't know a thing about hockey but I heard all the talk about how Canada was going to put a hurting on USA. When I found out that USA came out on top in a game that most people predicted Canada to win...that's a sweet feeling. Gotta love it when USA is the underdog and pulls an upset! Go red, white, and blue! Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted February 22, 2010 Super User Posted February 22, 2010 I still don't know if they have what it takes to beat the Fins, Sweds, or even Russians. Different style of hockey imo. The USA guys get all kinds of practice when they play against the Red Wings! Quote
Sfritr Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Awesome hockey was played Sunday, Period. It was rival Sunday: Czech vs Russia, Sweeds vs Norway, USA vs. Canada IMO the Russian team has the most talent but the way the pairings are set up now because of the U.S. win against Canada it has given the U.S. a window to be playing for gold on Sunday. Canada will have to play Russia or Sweeden or possibly both. We have a very good chance....... Quote
bassnleo Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Did anyone see the hit that Ovi put on Jagr at center ice.....ouch! To add more insult, right after the hit Russia went right down and scored (Malkin). I see Russia winning the gold. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I see Russia winning the gold. USA,USA!!!!!!! Quote
zero limit Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 As much as i love hockey this is one of the better games i've seen in a while. I was actually rooting for the usa team to crush players on myy fav. team TOEWS,KEITH and SEABROOK. I am hoping They atleast get a medal. next game will prob. against Switzerland Quote
srv1990 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 A great win for the U.S. team. Hopefully Miller can continue his hot play, although we definitely have to do better at limiting the number of shots. USA!! Quote

Alex is not only the best player in the world, but he is probably one of the best hitters too. Quote

To add more insult, right after the hit Russia went right down and scored (Malkin). I see Russia winning the gold. Alex is not only the best player in the world, but he is probably one of the best hitters too. He is far from one of the best hitters. Look through compilations of his best hits and you will see a lot of the time he hits when the players back is turned and that player is defenseless (which should be boarding calls) or he leaves the ice and jumps into people (which should be boarding or charges). And to top it off he wears a visor so he can't be that tough, he is a punk in my book. If he played ten years ago before hockey really changed he would be getting beat up. Quote
seyone Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I just don't see it that way. I only got half way through this video and most everything was hard and clean, If a player's feet leave the ice due to the impact of the hit it is not a penalty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2NJipsmFMA Looks like one of the best hitters to me 8-) Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 In the first :50 of that video I saw him hit a guy who wasn't looking and leave his feet to hit another guy. I don't know hockey or anything--I think they looked like cool hits--but I'm just saying it seems like Tin's got a point. Quote

One of the first things you learn is to keep your head up and be aware of your surroundings. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 It still looked like a Hines Ward hit if you know what I mean... Quote
