Siebert Outdoors Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Thats great to see. I do agree that the whole "Climate change" was political driven for $ and votes. Its a hoax. Now I do agree with making our earth better and safer with less pollutants. I would love to see some real scientific research. Quote

Super User Lund Explorer Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 If these scientists are going to have a do-over, it would be nice to think that they would go back a little farther than 100 years or so. Maybe they could figure out what the climate was like back about the time Ol' Eric the Red and his band of vikings settled into Greenland. And maybe more importantly, what caused the climate back then. I don't think it was too many cars driving on the roads, but something warmed it up. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 So what they are saying is "We screwed you guys out of millions of dollars in funds and now that our hoax has been exposed, we risk loosing our funding. Now we need that funding for a do-over." Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 The truth is, climate change, once called global warming, has been taking place long before man walked the earth. There have been three, documented by core samples, occasions when the Great Barrier Reef was sixty feet above sea level. The Northeast, where I live was beneath a glacier. As for the rising sea levels, no one seems to mention this, but how much of that is due to coastal erosion? The truth is, that if the sun burns long enough, and all remains as it is today without a cataclismic incident, that sea water will eventually cover the entire face of the planet. Over eons, erosion from wind, rain, rivers, etc., will wash everything into the sea. Geologic activity is likely to push other areas above sea level. But that too has nothing to do with man. Quote

I'd lock them all up for fraud and scamming. Politicians too. Quote

Tokyo Tony Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Does that mean we get our money back? These "scientists" are no better than the politicians. They're all the scum of the earth and it makes me sick. Does global warming exist? Absolutely. Has anyone even come close to proving we cause it, or a part of it? No. Has anthropogenic global warming been widely accepted? Yes. Why? The scumbags in the mainstream media and the public's (grossly misplaced) trust in them. I go into this with an open mind. There may well be man-made global warming, although I personally do not think so from all I have read about the subject. What infuriates me is pseudo scientists claiming it has been proven beyond all doubt in order to get more money from corrupt politicians who benefit personally from any anti-warming legislation they're able to stick to us, while the darling media goes along for the ride, purposely misleading the public - that is, the dumb, average American who doesn't even know enough to care for himself. Dirtbag elitists. Phew - I'm glad politics aren't allowed here because don't even get me started naming names Quote

Stop cutting the trees down, leave the forrest alone everywhere What? Does that mean your going to tear down your house made of wood? Trees are renewable and a great source of product if managed properly. Now the climate thing.... of course climate changes. Whether or not its accelerated by man or not we'll probably never know. You can put all the data together you want but its hard to creat data for years past without some sort of error. Honestly, here in Indiana, I'm pretty sure we are having a second ice age. The normal temps this time of year are like 44 degrees, the high today is 28 and we've had very few above 30 in feb. The Earth varies naturally, it just makes sense to curve our pollution as much as possible though. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 I'd just like someone to tell the truth..Whatever it is. Al Gore (moviemaker extrordinare)told you the "Inconvienent Truth" and has since mysteryously disappeared. I hope he's ok. He did such a good job on combating global warming that its too cold now. If he reappeared and started preaching again all that hot air might warm us up a little. Quote

IwillChooseFreeWill Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 It doesn't matter what they do... the scammers will still cherry pick what they want to fit their agenda, and then lobby governments to steal more taxpayer money and force unfair restrictions on car makers and people... Force "recycling" efforts that use big polluting diesel trucks to take it to big polluting sorting and recycling centers. Recycling puts more pollution in the atmosphere than creating the same items new. Relating to vehicles, look at engines today: You need a modern 396ci V8 (6.5L) with all the modern computers and emissions crap, just to match the power and fuel efficiency of a properly tuned 1975 Chevy 350 (5.7L). I had a 76 GMC, replaced the original carb with Edelbrock 600 cfm and took off the catalytic convertor which was not working anyways. I went from 9-10 mpg around town and weak power, to a whole lot of power and 18 mpg. Even when I was constantly putting the pedal down I was still seeing 15 mpg. I towed around a boat for most of a tank of gas and still saw 20 mpg mostly highway driving while towing. Without towing it saw 22-23 mpg highway. Even while towing this 76 truck had more power than the 06 Chevy truck with the same size 5.7L but all the extra emissions crap. Look at the 1990 Geo Metro. 3 cyl engine, 65 mpg and very few computer or emissions crap. Today they have to make it a hybrid or super efficient diesel before they can even break 40 mpg. They can fix this: take off almost all the emission restrictions but keep the computer adjustments, high intake throttle bodies, direct injection and so on, but remove 99% of the emissions equipment and we will still have the cleanest running engines ever, plus require a smaller engine to get the same amount of power which equals out to better fuel economy and less gas used, less gas = less pollution. Its a great cycle... Of course I am just waiting for magnetic power vehicles to take over... giant magnetic wheel spinning and powering the vehicle. No fuel needed. Quote
fathom Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 climate changes every day. it's supposed to. Quote
brushhoggin Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 oops NWFLmike's post is ballsy however i agree. like i said a couple weeks ago, if you compare the amount of time man has actually been recording climate and climate patterns to the actual age of the earth, there is no way to fabricate an accurate assesment in determining weather or not we're the cause, or our planet is doomed or whatever. that argument alone should shut up the radical left. the climate warms and cools, big whoop, wanna fight about it? Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted February 25, 2010 Super User Posted February 25, 2010 Al Gore didn't invent the Internet, but he did invent global warming. Saw this on a tee shirt the other day, and just cracked up. Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted February 25, 2010 Super User Posted February 25, 2010 If this graph is close to accurate, it is recurring history. Quote
IwillChooseFreeWill Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 yes sometime between now and the next 200 years will be the NATURAL warm peak for this planet... then 15,000 years later will be the NATURAL cold peak and another ice age. This is normal, this is the planet doing what it has long before man was around. Saying that man has created any of these conditions is like saying you killed off the LMB population of the world because you sneezed on one before you released it last week. Quote
