I know i spend alot on fishing stuff, so i was just wondering how much everyone else spends on fishing stuff

It all depends on how much is in my pocket and what I need.  It could range from $5 to $75.

What he said.  I have spent as high as 300 in a month, and as little as 5 bucks.... depends on disposable cash available, and what the bait monkey tells me I must buy. :) ::)

It's funny about this question, because when I think about it, I have a lot of very nice fishing gear. I have been collecting it all my life (and that's a long time) LOL. I probably only make one purchase or so a year of anything besides lures and line. Since I already have more accumulated gear than I can fish with, my monthly expenditures are pretty small.

I say all that to say, that if you are willing to do it over time, buy stuff in bulk and get good used stuff, it really doesn't cost that much even to fish with high end gear. I have enough line, hooks and hard baits to last at least another year and except for jigs & plastics (I go through a lot of them) I don't spend very much on lures & tackle.

It's also funny that everything is relative also. At today's prices, I can choose to fill up the bassbus ($240 worth of regular) or buy a GLX rod blank and build myself a new rod. :)

probably around $50 a month on average. It's hard to say though. I've had months where I spent $300 on gear, and then months when I haven't spent a dollar. It probably averages to around $50 overall I think

I arerage 75 bucks a month. I always buy stuff while I'm there plus two kids learning how to fish, my 5 yr old throws stuff into the buggy because he likes the color or style. I was just going topost a topic about this but my topic was going to be ( the wife keepin tabs on how much money you spend a year on fishing stuff) My total so far this year is around $850.00 and now she wants to spend that much on herself and I told her $ 10 at a time ;D

I spend a ridiculous 200$/mo. or so. give or take on a given month, but I spend a lot given the fact that I do no professional fishing or even tournaments. I'm sure a lot of others out there feel the same.

I guess it's like any other hobby or passion - and buying the wonderful gear brings a lot of joy to it, as well. not as much as actually fishing, but it's still fun! there are a lot of variables like buying an expensive bait and being disappointed - but then you fish it other ways to quickly try and make it work - and you find an unconventional method that brings in fish! just an example, but man...gotta love this sport. :)

You don't have a high enough number for me.  I just bought a new canoe and a bunch of gear.  I most likely average at least $100 a month if I exclude big ticket items (rods, reels, boats).

I can usually get by with only spending a couple bucks per month.

When averaged over the entire year, my number goes down significantly. I buy lots between March and October but very little to none in the winter months.

I could get by with what I have for now the rest of the year and even next year.  And I ordered another $400 worth of stuff today.

Too much according to friends and family.

If I am spending a lot of time on the water I spend more money on tackle because I lose a lot of lures when I am fishing.  If I am not fishng a lot I don't buy as much.

I would say at least $50/a month.

$100 a week easy. Not counting when I buy a new Dobyns rod and Revo STX every month or so.

I think there's a lota guys here that would be in the $500 month no tackle range. I don't think I'm the only one  :-/

After just reading everyones response, I'm in shock. $50 a week seems more normal, but I'm reading $50 a month. I just don't understand how people can get by on $50 a month!? What's going on!? Baitmonkey must be on summer vacation.

Seriously...it depends on how broke i am....I think i spent maybe $150 this month(june)...next month(july) i probably won't buy anything. Then Aug. which is the month of my birthday i know i can get by spending some money without my girl complaining.

If i could i would spend an easy $2 G a month on tackle which is on my "wish list".
