LOL. Yep, thats right. Im starting P90X this Sunday. I got the Dvds from a guy that is actually fatter than i am, so im already have doubts in my head. Plus i had a dream the other night that i was one of the guys on the infommercial. Im sure to catch hell over that last sentence. To clarify , i wasnt dreaming about the guy i was dreaming i was one of them. So go ahead, Speedbead, Burley, Tin or whoever. You go right ahead and get your laughs in now.

P.S. Watched a little bit of video the other day and i dont if i can even keep a striaght face. That guy is hilarious.

good luck, and stick with it.  I knew a guy that was doing this, he was in decent shape, and was on the floor vomiting during some of them... gets intense till you get used to it.

I did a couple weeks worth...not fun let me tell ya.. I hope you enjoy doing push ups and pull ups. As if you arn't feeling bad about yourself enough they tell you the one guy only has one leg and that he isn't even breaking a sweat.

You're fat.  So am I. Deal with it, I do.

Maybe we should call it the "West Virginia Fat Arse Debutante Ball" this year.  Make sure everyone feels welcome.   ;D

Plyometrics. You will hate that word.

No kidding. That was the absolute worst.

I would always mute the tv & work out to music because I can't stand listening to Tony.

It does work, but only if you follow it religiously. A work bud of mine has now lost 26lbs. He's on day 70 something.

a bunch of my buddies on my floor at school started doin P90X  at the begging of this semester. They're always complaining about being sore haha

I started using the perfect pushup a few weeks ago an it really works. I've been a little sore but not to the extent that my friends are. I really like it an it definitely works. I got mine at Wal-Mart for 15 bucks, pretty solid deal if ya ask me.

I acquired a copy from some of the Army Special Operations guys I am training with right now, and plan on giving it a go starting today!

I am ALWAYS skeptical of any infomercial workout product.  That being said, P90x is THE hardest workout I have ever done.  More intense than any workout I have had in high school or college sports training.  YOU WILL BE HURTING!!!

What are your goals? just lose weight?

As a novice you can gain muscle and burn fat doing just about any type of exercise. Eventually though you'll have to progressively load your muscles to see improvement. This is very difficult to do on a conditioning/aerobic program. You may still be burning fat, but you'll be losing muscle too.

Make sure you're eating enough food too. People like to eat waayy too little when on a new program. If your not eating enough you will not recover and a lot of times your body will hold onto it's fat as a reserve.

My suggestion, drop the p90, pick up a barbell and get as strong as you can. You'll burn fat and look better than you would if you had 'teh ripped core'

I'm not sure what is going on nowadays where guys feel the need to be smaller. I weighed 140 lbs last summer, trust me it's not sexy.

Good for you - If you haven't been participating in a regular exercise program recently there will always be an adjustment (soreness). Start out slow - if you pull a hammy that will set you back.

P90x and all the programs like it, require a lifestyle change in order to get any but especially the full benefit of the program. So the program itself is a very short, but intense, life style change. More importantly, if you do not continue the "lifestyle" change there is a distinct possibility that you will eventually be right back where you started. The great thing is it's allot easier to maintain it once you get there.

A fellow Drill Instructor used to tell his recruits "Your physical appearance is a direct reflection of your lifestyle."

It made me think.

Good Luck

Awesome!! When you start out go at your own pace at first. Do not try to keep up with them unless your already in pretty good shape ( I wasn't and I tried ). You may also have to modify some of the moves they do to fit you Im 6'4 225 and not all the limber. The first week is gonna be hell for you but work through the pain and the program and kinda stick to thr nutrition guide. I'm on my 4th week and can already see a difference!! Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

Me and my room mates did it for the first phase. I am a former cross country runner who is still fairly active, and just letting you know, this thing kicked I disagree. I dropped 10 pounds without and diet. Hell few of the nights i grabbed a beer when i was done. So if you are willing to stick with it, you WILL get good results.
