Went to the lake today to replace the bunks on the trailer.  Never thought I'd see the above... :(

At least there is open water nearby...

I am so sick of ice and snow.  I had the ol' lady convinced to move down south after the kiddo graduates from H.S.( after next year God willing)  Now she has decided she wants to open her own business here in Northern Illinois.  Looks like Im stuck here for awhile longer.

Excellent photo of the snow and ice on the lake.

Why is one frozen but not the other?

The first one is at 2600' and shielded by a hill.  Sun doesn't touch it much.

The second two photos are of a different lake, elevation around 1600'.

Gotcha. I'm always interested why some lakes freeze and others nearby don't.

Love the El Nino' years...went fishing yesterday and it was 61 ambient and 51 degree water!!

I found open water! I was unpleasantly surprise my wife didn't tell me since she passes it by everyday going to work.  >:(
