A few weeks ago you was looking at getting a bow and taking up archery and hunting.   Just curious as to what you have chosen as your new rig, if you have yet

I did finally choose a bow. :)

I went ahead and ordered a Hoyt Carbon Matrix in black.  Also going with the Boss Hogg sight.  Still looking at a couple different rests, as well as stabilizers.  I'll post pictures once I get it all sorted out.

BowHuntingMonkey got you ?  :o

Well, he must have fled the premises when I kicked him out of here and went your way.  :)

My friend Pedro got the Bow Hunting Monkey a few years ago, he still hunts with powder but he prefers the string & arrow more. One day I went with him to practice and man I liked it, but not the target practice, I liked the safari ( 3D ) practice a lot. We discussed about all you can do in that kind of practice and I got interested, but after thinking it thoroughly I lost interest. The BowMonkey got kicked from here.

Pig hunting is a good time Robert. I am sure you will have fun.

A few years ago, a group of us traveled to Ft. Stewart in GA to hunt hogs.  The only problem with hunting there at that time is they were prepping to deploy quite a few troops and not many areas were opened to hunting.

We saw some pigs, but most were in the areas with no hunting. This is before I started fishing for bass or I would have just spent those couple days in the Ponds...

Hoyt makes a good bow.  I think you will be happy.   May I suggest a dropaway rest.   I think you will be happy with that style of rest and it will help with accuracy as well.

Drop away is what has been suggested.  Im going with a 60-70 lb bow.

I have a couple clients with ranches that are 10,000+ acres.   Looking forward to doing some exploring. :)

Yeah you could get a whisker bicuit. I would advise aginst it myself. It's a well known fact that the drop away rests are more acurate, more so at ranges fifty yards up. Now the downside to the drop away is mechanical failure which is rare, most often it is improper installation on the users part. The biscuits down fault is increased wear on your arrows vanes. That and any imperfections with your form or follow through will effect arrow flight with the biscuit as your Arrow is in contact with your rest for a longer period of time.

The main benefit of the biscuit that has been a selling point since it's *** has been a full capture rest great for spot and stalk rest. Now in last couple of years there are drop aways that offer the same advantage of the biscuit with full containment yet still have the drop away advantage.
