VABassin'14 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 What is your favorite fishing movie? I can't just pick one between A river runs through it andThe valley of light. both are a must see if you haven't already done so. Quote
Radical Conservative Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 A River Runs Through it! I also enjoyed Bill Engvall's Bait Shop. A little goofy, but the only movie that really has anything to do with tournament fishin'. I thought it was kinda funny. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 A River Runs Through It I don't think I've seen any others worth watching again Quote

Super User Sam Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 The Old Man and the Sea. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 Actually, Jaws is a horror movie. Quote
Stringjam Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Actually, Jaws is a horror movie. I would consider it more of a suspense/thriller action movie than horror. One of my favorite films in life. Robert Shaw as "Quint" was top shelf. Great actor. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 The Old Man and the Sea. Classic. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 Moby Dick Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 The Old Man and the Sea. Classic. You beat me to the word "classic" Many critics feel Spencer Tracey was the greatest American actor. Quote
Sfritr Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Other than a few mentioned I have not really seen a fishing movie other than A River Runs Through it?? I will have to check out the valley of light. Who is in it and when was it made? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 Big Bait Posse A River Runs Through It Quote
bwell Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I cant believe no one has said Grumpy Old Men yet... Quote
bassmajor Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 One of the best fishing scenes is in the Great Outdoors when they fall asleep in the boat and wake up with their leeches all over their arms and faces. LMAO when I think of them all pointing and screaming at each other..ahahhahahahaha Quote
NewAngler Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I cant believe no one has said Grumpy Old Men yet... Really? Have you seen that movie? I'm not surprised. A River Runs Through It. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 A River Runs Through It. The most UNREALISTIC fly fishing I've ever seen. Good movie, but the fishing scenes were pure fantasy, and caused a deluge of nancy-pants wannabes littering the trees in my streams with dry flies, LOL. Quote

I will have to check out the valley of light. Who is in it and when was it made? The movie was published in 2007, but it was a book before it was a movie. It is directed by Brent Shields, and the main character, Noah, is played by Chris Klein. Its a great movie. Quote

Like the movie Rounders caused a huge surge in the popularity of no limit Texas Hold'em. Of course, amateur poker players who think they're awesome are always welcome. I'm sure it's different with flyfishing :-) Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 Captains Courageous with Spencer Tracy is my favorite. While I think fly fishermen for the most part are nancy-pants wearing elitists, ;D I liked A River Runs Through It. Quote
