Knuble actually got the game winner. Ovi's shot went off the post and Knuble poked it in. Either way....Ovechkin is straight dirty. I always go to the games down here when he is in Atlanta and it's so fun to watch him. It definitely helps to have Semin and Backstrom on the same line with him but I really think he is the best to ever play the game. Dude busts his butt on every play.

I just knew if they could find a way to score after killing off the 5 on 3 at the start of the 3rd it was game over. Caps are extreamly fun to watch. Keeps me sane during the winter. Tough to get tix anymore for home games. Wish I could have been there to watch little crybaby get 1 up'd on national tv....... Priceless!!!!!

Yup, a great player but dirty as well. If you're going to hit and make BS leg checks take off the gay visor. He is going to either ruin his career or someone elses on of these days. He is a more talented Ulf Samuelson in my book. And Senko if you are a Bruins fan, you must hate Ulf and Ovechkin. ;D

Ovi has definitely made some dirty hits but I honestly don't think it's ever been to intentionally hurt someone.  I think he just plays passionately and in a spilt second bodies turn and the knees hit. 

I'm a Bruins fan but also a hockey fan and playing for over 10 years really makes me appreciate how he snipes.  I hate Ulf, but I can't hate Ovi.  I freakin love how he comes down, opens the defensmen's legs, then snipes opposite corner and the goalie never even sees it.  Every time he comes to Atlanta, he makes our goalies look retarded...I love it.

I have a ton of friends that are Caps fans. Everyone of them is all over his..... anyway, I'm not a fan of him for the way he plays and the the way he acts on the ice, but most of all, I hate him because everyone else around me loves him soo much. "tha stick is hot!"

Best player ever? - he's got long way to go to get to Gretzky, Lemieux or Orr's level.

He is fun to watch though.

Both Crosby and Ovechkin will never be on a level of those three imo. First off Orr, was a defenseman putting up huge numbers that we will never see again from a defenseman.

Super Mario was amazing because he had someone amazing with him, Jagr. When those two were together they had a few 120 point season and I believe Mario had 160+ one year which is the closest anyone will ever get to Gretzky's 200 point marks. Granted Ovechkin has Semin and Crosby has Guerin and some others but neither has potential hall of famer on their lines like Gretzky and Mario had.

The one thing to remember about numbers, the game is a lot different now then when Gretzky and Mario played. Point totals will never be as high as they used to be unless they change the rules, especially in regards to goalie equipment.
