NewAngler Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 .... is THE most dominate player in all of sport right now. Just had 4 goals, one being the gamewinner against Cindy and the rest of his P squad. Quote
senko_77 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Knuble actually got the game winner. Ovi's shot went off the post and Knuble poked it in. Either way....Ovechkin is straight dirty. I always go to the games down here when he is in Atlanta and it's so fun to watch him. It definitely helps to have Semin and Backstrom on the same line with him but I really think he is the best to ever play the game. Dude busts his butt on every play. Quote
quanjig Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I just knew if they could find a way to score after killing off the 5 on 3 at the start of the 3rd it was game over. Caps are extreamly fun to watch. Keeps me sane during the winter. Tough to get tix anymore for home games. Wish I could have been there to watch little crybaby get 1 up'd on national tv....... Priceless!!!!! Quote

He is going to either ruin his career or someone elses on of these days. He is a more talented Ulf Samuelson in my book. And Senko if you are a Bruins fan, you must hate Ulf and Ovechkin. ;D Quote

I think he just plays passionately and in a spilt second bodies turn and the knees hit. I'm a Bruins fan but also a hockey fan and playing for over 10 years really makes me appreciate how he snipes. I hate Ulf, but I can't hate Ovi. I freakin love how he comes down, opens the defensmen's legs, then snipes opposite corner and the goalie never even sees it. Every time he comes to Atlanta, he makes our goalies look retarded...I love it. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 7, 2010 Super User Posted February 7, 2010 They are going snap the 10 game streak tonight, just scored again and up 3-0 on the dirty Molson drinking Canadians. 8-) ;D Quote
bassnleo Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Senko, I'll hate Ovi for you . He's a dominant player and a hoot to watch, but for some reason I just don't like him, I cannot honestly tell you why. Wait.....just figured out why, I'm a Pens fan Quote
VABassin'14 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I have a ton of friends that are Caps fans. Everyone of them is all over his..... anyway, I'm not a fan of him for the way he plays and the the way he acts on the ice, but most of all, I hate him because everyone else around me loves him soo much. "tha stick is hot!" PS. yes he is the best player in the NHL Quote
Sfritr Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I watched that PENS game until the beginning of the third and was planning tevoing the rest. Thanks guys!!! LOL. I can't believe they came back and won. Now I have to watch the rest. I CANNOT STAND Crysbie!!! Plus, I'm a wings fan so him not shaking hands last year only fueled the hatred. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 how many stanley cups does he have have? How many does Sydney have? GO PENS! Quote

Got a ways to go to get to Gretzky's numbers...but he's off to a good start. Quote
Skunked in DR Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Best player right now - yes Best player ever? - he's got long way to go to get to Gretzky, Lemieux or Orr's level. He is fun to watch though. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 Both Crosby and Ovechkin will never be on a level of those three imo. First off Orr, was a defenseman putting up huge numbers that we will never see again from a defenseman. Super Mario was amazing because he had someone amazing with him, Jagr. When those two were together they had a few 120 point season and I believe Mario had 160+ one year which is the closest anyone will ever get to Gretzky's 200 point marks. Granted Ovechkin has Semin and Crosby has Guerin and some others but neither has potential hall of famer on their lines like Gretzky and Mario had. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 The one thing to remember about numbers, the game is a lot different now then when Gretzky and Mario played. Point totals will never be as high as they used to be unless they change the rules, especially in regards to goalie equipment. Quote
Hooked_On_Bass Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Ovi is definitely a blast to watch. (Except when he is playing against Toronto) Quote
whoopbazz Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 All I can say is..... WANNA BANANA MONKEY BOY? Quote
quanjig Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Ahhhhh...... Must be a crybaby fan. " mommmy, he checked me tooooo hard" sniff, sniff Quote
