9/11: Science And Conspiracy, on National Geographic

Has anyone else seen or are you watching it? It's like people just choose to ignore that there's VIDEO TAPE of the planes crashing into the buildings and Pentagon.  And then they prove against many of the "truthers" theories on thermite, et al.  And yet these people still purport to think that it was some sort of conspiracy.  It just sticks in my craw.

That stuff will really make you think and some of the views on it and science really make sense. It is a lot like the conspiracy behind Roosevelt letting Pearl Harbor happen. I don't believe it, but it is an interesting take on the subject.

Ya its an interesting point of view. Not sure if you watched the same one but the "Conspiracy Theory" show with Jesse Ventura goes over the same things. Some of it like how they managed to supposedly find 0 black boxes of 4 at the WTC is a little fishy (they had a guy that claims he seen them recovered, and the FBI denies their existence). And I don't think there are any videos of the Pentagon plane, which is also fishy cause well ummm, its the Pentagon and probably has 4 billion security cameras. They try to say that it was actually just an explosion from something like a helicopter-launched missle or something... I can't really remember.

I don't happen to agree with this conspiracy theory, but I haven't read too much on it either. My gut instinct is to say it's total BS, but the more I read about conspiracy theories in general, the more they make sense if you really put the pieces together.

The fact is, there's so much we don't know about virtually everything that it's nearly impossible to come to an absolute, final conclusion. The key is to go into everything with a totally open mind, learn as many facts as possible, and draw your own logical conclusion.

If you base your opinions on what you see on TV, you're doing yourself a disservice. The only way to get true facts about anything is to do your own research on the internet, and I'm not talking the mainstream media sites. Every mainstream media outlet has its own agenda. If you don't believe that, then put your glasses on and stop drinking.

You last quote is very fitting.  What the "conspiracy theorists" do not tell you is that the camera in the guard shack is a fish eye lens that is used to video cars/people going by the shack.  It is not meant to capture fast movement from a distance.  So just seeing a blur is perfectly logical.  They don't talk about the light poles that were knocked down by the plane's wings, they don't talk about the plane pieces that were strewn about, they don't talk about any of the eyewitness accounts (people who saw an AA plane hit the pentagon).  As far as wing damage is concerned, consider the mass of the planes wings and  you'll see why there is not going to be much damage.

Are you kidding? PEOPLE can go fast enough to blur depending on the light, camera, etc...

Also, don't forget all the eyewitness accounts that CONFIRMED that a plane went into the Pentagon.

All of the "science" those conspiracy jokers use is BS. They just say things and hope people don't research them.

The idea that such a huge and complex inside job could have been pulled off successfully without any actually involved people saying anything is ridiculous. Something that big wouldn't stay secret. Also, if it is a giant conspiracy, WHY ARE THERE SO MANY INTERNET SITES AND PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IT? Do you think an entity with enough pull to do something that big would allow guys like the "loose Change" guys to go around running their mouths. I don't.

I think (whether they are consciously aware of it or not) people started believing the conspiracy stuff because they wanted to feel like they knew something that others did not--like they were "in the loop." Notice that most conspiracy theorists have an extremely snobby attitude towards non-conspiracy theorists.

So the other plane didn 't crash cuz all we have to prove it is a smoking hole on the ground, nobody filmed it or actually saw it land on it 's nose.

This is what ticks me off...The conspiracy theorists just claim stuff like "there was no plane wreckage found" and then some dumbies read that on the internet and assume it's concrete fact...despite the fact that there is clear photographic, physical, and testimonial evidence to the contrary. Why do these bozos get the benefit of the doubt automatically? Because the own a website?

I think Dan# just hit my frustrations on the head.  It's bad enough that we lost 3100+/- Americans that day and in the following days, but to try to either turn it into a conspiracy theory for attention/financial gain or to infer that the government somehow set it up is just reprehensible, especially with no evidence other than claiming a lack of evidence. And the evidence that they claim doesn't exist, EXISTS.  Insanity!

IMO, I'm disgusted by the 9/11 conspiracy theories. Even ones about world trade center. Claiming someone planted a bomb in the building to make it collapsed. They also claim the jet fuel doesn't burn enough to melt the steel in the tower.

Yes, it's a coincidence.  If the gov't killed him then why in the H would they kill him after he did an interview on tape, and then why in the H wouldn't they also kill the interviewers and take the tape so that no one could ever see it?

How about the smoking hole on the ground of the fouth plane in Pennsylvnia ? there 's nothing inside of the hole that barely resembles an airplane of that size, but I have to say that I 've seen a lot of images in documentaries from planes that crashed on their noses on the ground and they do leave a hole just like that one, the plane gets pulverized when it hits the ground at 500 MPH.

Bodies ? if you land on your face at 500 MPH there ain 't gonna be much left of you for someone to pick you up, you don 't become a sticky like Willie Coyote.

The Loose Change guys are the masters of stating something as fact without any proof. They are the worst of the bunch. Ever see them debate the Popular Mechanics authors? They basically started whining and complaining because they had no idea what they were talking about.

And btw, Loose Change 2 wasn't released until June of 2006!!! So, just so we have the story right, the gov't knew this guy was alive and that he witnessed something that he shouldn't have. They let him live for over 4 years until he meets with two lunatics and then the gov't kills him a week later and they don't kill the other two lunatics?

Your post would also potentially have some credibility if you referenced a news story, or even knew the guys name. But, this sounds like an "I know someone who knows someone who...." story. Complete and utter fiction.

if you do the math on how fast a plane files, vs. the frame rate of security cameras, you'll realize that this is a pretty silly statement.

in terms of wing damage, who says a wing would have to make damage?  they are not made to withstand impact.

and with the security cameras, big deal.  If something happens anywhere, the local security cameras are checked and taken as necesary.
