Big Dave,

Let's see. Coastal Carolina.

Pretty coeds.

Beautiful weather.

Great fishing.

Super beaches for frolicking with your girlfriends.

Close to Charleston which is an outstanding place for food and history.

If they have your major please consider the school.

The people in South Carolina are very, very nice. Myrtle Beach is a resort area so your parents will have a nice time when they visit.

Head south, Big Dave. The girls are much prettier than heading north.  ;)   ;)   ;)

lol awesome! they have a fishing club? thats great! is there lots of good bass fishing down there?

Posted

Yes we have a fishing club, it isnt widely known though except in SC , but I have been told that its actually the oldest college fishing club in the US.

As for bass fishing there are a lot of smaller ponds and rivers down here, nothing huge, but I know about 30-40 lakes/ponds in the area that I am allowed to fish in. Not to mention during the fall there is a huge run of redfish, bluefish, and spanish down the coast.

Also I live down here year round, so if you decide to come to check out the school I can show you around.

I wish I would have went to Coastal. I believe they have  golf management program that would have been nice to study. If I had studied....

yeah i saw a bunch of little ponds around the area on google maps. whats that big oxidation pond? i've never heard of an oxidation pond. also, how about that little river that runs nearby? that looks like a good spot to fish if you had a little boat or pontoon.

The oxidation pond is a water cleaning area, its all fenced off and there are no fish in it. The river is the Waccamaw, it can be good if you know where to go but it took me a while to figure it out.

Also just because the ponds are small, dont underestimate to fish in them, the one in my avatar was caught 5 min from my house, and the biggest that I have caught around here are a pair of 8lbrs, but I know a couple people who caught some 9's out of some of my bigger ponds.

I have a brother-in-law that graduated from there.  He seemed to really enjoy the place.

I dont think I have ever heard a negative about it.

I had two friends that went to Coastal and loved it.  I wish I would have known about the school before I made my College pick!  Not to mention the fact that I love everything about SC!

I also had a few friends go down that I graduated with. They were high school sweethearts and broke up shortly after arriving. My buddy said there were just too many girls. lo

Any idea on what you want to major in?

Just checked it out on CollegeBoard and it must be either a very difficult school, a party school, or one that accepts a lot of people because only 2/3's return for their sophmore year.

Well we are at the beach so there is a bit of partying, it is a somewhat diffcult, and they accept a lot of people, so it is a little of everything.

Although a lot of the transfer rate is due to the Maryland/South Carolina exchange program. MD students who come here for marine science get in state tuition, but since around 50% of M. Sci majors change majors after the first year a lot of them tend to go back home.

hahahaha. I have the greatest college visit story and it comes from coastal. It involves strippers, golf balls, a ton of alcohol, and a sun burnt ***. If one of those things scares or intimidates you, DO NOT GO. Oh, I forgot. It also involved police and a free night in the drunk tank for a buddy of mine.
