Well I finally got to get out on the water and try to get some more mojo doped on this braclet. Seems it is already loaded. I had two nice fish today but I had to give one of them a quick release due to some curious spectators. Anyway I happen to get lucky twice today and find another canidate for the task. Wonder who will be next!

Thanks Brian for your service! Your braclet is glowing with mojo already!

Awesome catch CJ!  Thanks a million for participating.  I really don't know what to say each time one of y'all put up a picture.  I know I sound like a broken record, but it is an honor for me to be a part of this.  Thanks man and thanks BassResource.com!

Hey Brian! I happened to bump into a guy this evening at the gas station. He said he would be happy to give the braclet a little mojo too! He also wanted to thank our troops for their service.

Sorry I broke the rules. I know he's not rubbing it on a fish but hands sure did smell like fish!

CJ, I worship you!!!

When the event closes, I'm never taking that bracelet off.  Already it has been passed to anglers that I have never met, but have gained a tremendous amount of respect for over the years.  That's not counting the bass fishing king a few posts up.  I hope that I can work it out with my new job to where I can personally thank everyone at Kentucky Lake.  This event has barely begun and I'm already overwhelmed.

They say behind every good man is an even better woman.  That's definitely true.  But also, behind every good soldier are people like y'all.  We couldn't do what we do and fight as hard as we do if it weren't for the American people.  You all are prime examples of what makes this country so darn great!  So, all in all, thank you and I can't wait to see where the MOJO is headed!

You betcha, his hands are full with mojo..... with what he's done at Wheeler lake last week and what he's doing right now on Kentucky Lake.

CJ, I really respect what you're doing for your countrymen, and you sure deserve such a "filled-with-mojo" bracelet. 8-)

Maxdal, I need one! LOL  :)

What a jerk I am !

Sure I meant Brian Reeves....

I respect what YOU (Brian) are doing for your countrymen.  8-)

I hope you come home safe and sound and that you get to go fishing as much as you want to. You deserve it !

No offense CJ  ;) ! And BTW, I also need such a bracelet  :D

I've been home for about 6 or 7 months now.  I get out of the army in 2 days, lol.  But I'm still going to be in the national guard for louisiana.

MaxDal, I misread the post anyway. I'm glad you cleared that up.

Brian, everybody owes you a big THANK YOU!!! Your time served must have had it's tough times. It's a sacrifice that is very appreciated! I hope you can make it to Ky. Lake next year! No need to bring a boat. If you make it, one of the days you could fish with me but, I want to wear the bracelet!  :D I would love to swap jig techniques with ya!

I'd like to look at this as using Brian as a representative for all our BR folk who are currently, previously, and soon to be, enlisted in the U.S. Service.

Brian has paid his dues and returned (as many of our veteran/Br members).  He has provided us with the perfect mojo trinket and now we show our thanks to him by packing it and giving it back but please understand, and perhaps this is my fault for not explaining it thoroughly, that returning the appreciation to Brian is the mojo's main goal but I would like to also know that when you fish to fill the mojo, you are also fishing to keep everyone aware of our boys who are away from home, fighting.

I know if I were laying in the sand right now, under fire, I would be struggling with the fact that back at home, everything is normal.  That's a tough one to handle mentally I think.  I would wonder if I was appreciated, if it's worth it, etc

I also know for a fact that a few members are there and cannot make contact with such things as BR.  (Some can, like SFC-Al, but others cannot)  Any time for correspondence is used to communicate with family, etc.  I'd like them to see this someday, upon their return and know that we were here, .....talking about them.  Thinking about them.

So,...with Brian as their rep,....let's fill this thing up for the boys.  While you fight, we fish.  We appreciate that, so while you fight, know that we are thinking of you,...and often.

CJ, even if I do have a boat and I drag it up there, I'd still want to go fishing with you man.  It's not often that I get to fish with people that fish jigs and I could definitely learn from watching other people work, especially in bodies of water I've never seen before.  I'll bring a ton of my homemade jigs up there.

There isn't any reason whatsoever that should prevent me from making it that I can foresee from right now.  I'll be in the Guard and I have an...interesting and unpredictable job lined up, but I'll give both of them about 6 months of advanced notice  ;D  As long as gas hangs around where it's at or isn't completely unreasonable, I'll make it.

LBH, you're absolutely right.  There are guys still over there.  I've been there twice, but some will end up there three, four, or more times.  The actual job doesn't matter.  Infantry like me, tanker, mechanic, cook, clerks...we all have a part over there and each part is appreciated not only by fellow soldiers, but most of the nation as a whole.  From what I can say though, is most guys appreciate the gratitude of citizens, but most don't expect it.  Many of us do what we do because we have some sort of love for the fight.  What that love spawns from is hard to say, but there is passion in each soldier, and it differs from person to person.

I will say this though, that the passion is fueled when soldiers see events like this one, or when they recieve 150 handmade cards from a kindergarden class.  Or when some random organization sends care packages over there.  Of the 27 months I was over there, I stayed overwhelmed by the generousity, support, and pride of the American people.  When I was approached by LBH about this in November or so, I didn't know what to say.  Several months later, here we are and I still haven't found words to express my gratitude and pride to be a part of this.

And LBH, you're right.  When I got back from a mission, I was generally hot, tired, dehydrated, fatigued, and a little wound tight.  I'd go to the phones and hear my kids playing in the background and listen to my wife tell me about some jerk at wal-mart, her dad's 5lb bass, or that my kids spilled tea on the carpet and I couldn't grasp the concept that the world was still turning.  I guess that's why that little bracelet became a symbolic piece to me.  It not only reminded me of my new son, but it would also remind me of normality.  And now it is even more treasured.

Said even better,lol.

I just want folks to really understand what this is about, it's not just a lucky charm, it's a personal interaction, symbolic of this online community and the things we hold dear.

Last season, it was Clay Dyer.

This year it's Brian Reeves, Accepting on behalf of our troops abroad

So round and round and round it goes, where it catches,....nobody knows.  Could it be in your mailbox tomorrow morning???

Go Go MOJO!!!

Hey Brian, Look what it did for KVD to rub on it, HE WON.

Happy Fathers Day to all, and a special Happy Fathers Day to our Troops!

Awesome man, simply awesome.  This computer doesn't have sound, so I can't really tell what lure you're using in there.  Seems to be pure dynamite on your water though.  Thanks man!
