It's that time again folks,...time to PASS THE MOJO!!

The way this works is you take the bracelet fishing with you and when you catch a fish, you rub it on the bracelet, packing it with mojo.  Then you mail it on to another member to do the same.

The idea is to get it to as many members (and states) as possible to pack it with mojo and then we send it back to the owner.

This year we are doing a tribute to all the guys and gals who are away from home fighting for our freedoms.

To assist us this yr, member Brian_Reeves has sent me something very special to him during his time away from home.  Below is the letter Brian sent along with the mojo, it goes with the trinket as it travels and we need each angler to please put his signature on the back of the last page.  This trinket from Brian does not just represent this personal story but it stands for all the unheard stories of our many soldiers away from home.

So,

After you pack it with Mojo and sign the letter, you send it on to the next member.

A key to this is....you DO NOT tell the board where it is going.  Pick someone you want to send it to and PM them for their address.  You also forward form letter of rules I will be sending to you via email, to the next person.

Between the 2 of you, you need to keep it secret where the mojo is until you post your pics and send it on.

YOU MUST POST A PIC TO PARTICIPATE!!!  DO NOT ACCEPT THE OFFER IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE A PIC  OF YOU RUBBING THE BRACELET ON THE FISH!!!!

THIS is the previous Mojo campaign so you can get a better idea.

This is a copy of the letter Brian sent to go with the mojo.

I guess the first order of business is to introduce myself.  Surprisingly, my mother didn't name me Ain't_Texan or Brians_screenname (former board names).  She went with Brian Reeves instead.  I'm 24 years old and from Baton Rouge, La.  Most of you know that I've spent the last 5 yrs in the Army and I've just come back from a 15 month deployment to Iraq.

Now, you're probably wondering about the little blue and white bracelet.  I know, it doesn't look like much, but this little thing means a lot to me.

A few weeks before we left for Iraq, I found out my wife was pregnant again.  We already have twin girls so this made leaving that much worse.  I knew that she would need me more than ever and I wouldn't be there.  Talk about a fit of depression.

A few months dragged on.  We had lost 2 of our guys and the fighting was intense, so there was little going good in my life.  That's when I got an email saying we were having a boy.  Talk about something that lifted me up!  Man, I was SO excited.  I wanted something that would remind me and something to tell the world.

I saw this baby blue and white bracelet while on patrol.  I traded it for $2 and a handful of Jolly Ranchers.  Now I had something I could look at and still find that initial excitement.  No matter how dire the situation, this little thing brought me home, and with it, HOPE.

This little bracelet has been in a few IED's, dozens of firefights, holidays away from home, and countless days when I was far from my wife and kids.  It was there when my son was born and when I got off of that plane and saw my family again.  Good times,...and bad.  So, to me, it isn't some stupid, cheap bracelet. It is a reminder of the hardships, hope and happiness of coming home from 15 long, hard months.  Now, it's going to take a year long trip with all of y'all.

Take care of it for me and wear it if you want to,  Fill this sucker up with the mojo for me.  Thanks for this honor and thank you for making me a part of your online community.  GOOD LUCK!!

Sincerely,

Brian Reeves

I just noticed something that made me jealous.  It doesn't look like y'all are fishing in 500mph winds.  Looks like nice weather and definitely nice fish.  I should have mailed myself up there, but shipping was a major concern.  I'm heavy :(

I don't post a lot of fish pictures, and I have my reasons, but if you put me on the list, I will install some MO-JO, guaranteed.

I was wondering if the MOJO was going to be a one time deal or if there would be different installments.

Of course I'm in!! Nothing I'd rather do than catch a bass, rub off some MOJO and send it on its way to another great BR member.
